I recommend you NEVER shop at this store. They do not care about customer service, or respecting the American flag. Especially for a shop billing itself as gun/fishing/motorcycles, you are disrespecting your main customer base. Entered the store, browsed for a bit before I saw an American flag underneath some merchandise. I politely informed them that the flag was being used improperly, according to Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (Flag Code). Employee told me the flag was “decommissioned” and “bought at a special auction, so it can be used for decorating or making items”. I took a minute to check this information, as it sounded fishy. Sure enough, she had either been mistaken or purposefully lied to me. Either way, I politely explained that it was very important to remove the items from on top of the flag and display it properly. I also mentioned how I had driven an hour into Denver to try on a specific product. As I was speaking, she interrupted to say “I’m done listening to this.” Unbelievable! She continued “We are just employees. If you have a problem you can talk to the owner. He’s overseas currently.” I said, “I’m sure you are able to move one display item. Very well, if you will not move the flag I will not give you my business.” As I was leaving the other employee said “if I move it will you be happy?” I replied “yes.” I took a minute to try on the product, and promptly left. In summary, utterly disrespectful, interrupted, made rude remarks. Worst of all, disrespected the flag. I would understand if they didn’t know, but they completely disregarded my request. No self respecting gun owner should shop here, and really no patriotic American should shop here. The customer service alone should disuade anyone. Finally, the owner seems to be making snide responses to the negative reviews, which I’m sure he’ll do here....
Read moreMy wife and I recently visited the shop as she wanted to get me a Barbour coat for my birthday. I will start by saying that the products are absolutrly incredible, the pricing is fair, and the sales that they have are an incredible value on products that will last you a lifetime. However, the staff was incredibly unhelpful and borderline rude. I completely understand the owner's response below as to safety concerns for the firearm room, however we were treated coldly our entire time there (we spent around 45 minutes in the shop) and found the staff to be very unhelpful even when we approached them with questions as to products and inventory. In fact, when asking about a specific size in a specific jacket, their attention became 100% focused on the fact that one jacket was mislabeled as a Large when it was a Medium, to the point where they never even came back and answered our question as to whether they had any Larges in stock. We spent ~$400 in the store, so surely were not only window shopping and were prepared to spend several hundred more if that jacket had been in stock in my size, but we were treated as if our business was not appreciated. We will be back for products in the future, but suggest you do your shopping on the website, and any research on those products online, then simply go into the store for your purchase as you should not expect the staff to help in buying decisions or product education. Sad, as the store, location and products are some of the best available and Orvis is the only other...
Read moreDo not buy a shotgun from this establishment until you have the stock dimensions independently measured by a qualified gunsmith. Without getting into the technical details I was sold a Beretta shotgun that was advertised as having a stock measurement that was pretty different than the actual measurement. I specifically asked the owner about the stock measurements before purchasing the gun and was assured that their listed measurements were accurate and performed in house. I took his word for it. Turns out that not only was a critical measurement off, they refused to acknowledge their mistake even when presented with photo documentation of the gun in question at an independent gun fitter with the measurement in question clearly portrayed in the photo. Fixing this problem would have cost them all of $175 (and this on a $5000.00 shotgun!) but I was basically told too bad - I should have said something in the 3 day trial period. I guess that's what I get for taking their word on it. They could have spent a minimal amount of money to fix this - it seems a poor way to run a business offering...
