Website is trash for filing anything. Don't expect you'll get what you paid for. Three separate occasions they've just taken my money. Twice when trying to register an LLC. Then when I called the rudest woman ever, told me they had no record of me paying and no record of me at all in the system, allthough the charges appeared on my bank statement. I had to dispute with my financial institution two 50 some dollar transactions for my LLC I never even received. So I gave up.
Today I was trying to register my trade name I paid for it, filled out everything and was supposed to have received my stamped document but when I went to download my copy the site timed me out for no apparent reason. Can't even find my emailed receipt because they never sent it. But low n' behold they took my money.
when trying to complain in the feedack section it couldn't read my telephone number said my format was invalid I tried spaces ,dashes ,no spaces... every normal way of entering a telephone number possible with no results, then the site kicked me off for no reason again.
Where are our tax dollars going if the secretary of state website in non operational and full of glitches. You think the government would have a halfway decent IT team but, nope. You think they would want people to register their businesses as it's fundamental to having thriving citizens. We coloradoians already live in a state where most households are extremely cost burdened by historically high rents that our state and local goverment refuses regulate. some of us like myself, have to scrape up the coin to pay for this kind of stuff but you all do not...
Read moreHad a terrible experience here in May 2025 trying to get an apostille on an Arapahoe County issued marriage license. The county now issues certified marriage licenses and certificates digitally. These certifications are LEGALLY VALID. The woman at the counter tried to deny this by saying its validity was in question since I had purchased and downloaded it from the county website on a Sunday, therefore the digital signature by the County Clerk and Recorder couldn’t be valid since it was a weekend. If this was the case, it would say somewhere in the state or county website digital certifications can only be purchased and downloaded M - F for it to be legally valid. The SOS’s office also claimed County Clerk and Recorder Joan Lopez never sent her oath of office to them, so they wouldn’t accept any documents certified by her. They said the only way they would apostille the document was if we returned with a hand stamped copy certified by someone other than Joan Lopez.
I called and spoke to several people at the County Clerk and Recorder’s office and they all assured me the certified marriage license should have been accepted since it is legally valid with the digital certification. They also stated they sent Joan Lopez’s oath of office to the SOS months ago, so her certification signature should have also been accepted. They informed me this same problem has happened repeatedly with the SOS’s office. It’s embarrassing that tax dollars are wasted on the salaries of state employees who are unwilling to do their...
Read moreThe way they do business is by increasing annual fees, refusing to authorize bank-approved transactions, then charging a $50 late fee. Since they haven’t fixed this in over a year, it tells me all they care about is money. When I called them there were dozens of people ahead of me in line. There was no guarantee of anyone calling back. I had to call them every day from the 1st through the 5th, every single time having to check out and check back into work, and they never responded to my two voicemails. Even though I requested a callback, when a person actually did call me back, he said he was going to transfer me but accidentally sent me back to the main menu so I had to request a callback again. There is no way to change your address with them for a transaction to go through, and they claim that you've never moved even when you specifically remember packing and unpacking. It's gaslight-y. 7/27-8/9 Stats: -Filled in address 21 times -Approved by bank (but not Secretary of State) 5 times -Called 5 days in a row -Left 2 voicemails -Received two callbacks with no resolution -iMac, Google Chrome Incognito with...
