As a cigar enthusiast, I thought this was a must-visit location. I was considering a membership either here or another location. They just let homeless people off the tmstreer come in and smoke cigarettes. The #1 UNIVERSAL CIGAR BAR RULE - No cigarettes!!! This is a 4-star hotel, and the room was clammed with cigarette smoke. People were not even interested in cigars or even drinking for that matter. It's just a place to jump off 17th and have cigarette in the warmth. I thought no matter what, I'd be signing a membership. There is absolutely no way. If you like cigars, their selection is VERY limited. Almost nothing. I'm very disappointed.
Also, their room was almost empty, but every table except 2 were reserved. When we left 2 hours later, only 3 tables were full. Do they get reserved all day until someone comes at 9pm? Just not a great experience.
Only good thing was your bartenders ability to make an amazing penicillin. He was awesome and the service was great. Food, eh.
Sorry, I won't be back. Step up your game as a real cigar bar, and you'll attract the proper clientele. Keep allowing people to walk in and smoke cigarettes while standing and drinking a Coors at the bar, and I will never be back, and neither will any respectable cigar enthusiast. This isn't Dennys in the 90's. Stop encouraging people to treat...
Read moreNot a good experience. We weren't told about the cigar cutting fee ($10) and a mandatory 20% tip (even though we were a party of 4). The place has gone down hill over the last 5 years: the leather chairs are torn, the tables look rough, the ventilation is poor - as is the bartenders attitudes.
The service was okay until we were given the bill and brought up the cigar fee, and were given nasty attitude by the blond waitress who told us to leave if we didn't like it (and an implied "do not come back"). We tried to leave, then she called security on us when we tried to comply.
We were stopped by security and I requested to talk to the manger. Talked with the manager and came to an agreement, then paid the bill. However, he never reached out to rectify the issue after giving me his word that he would, and we'd be "taken care of, next time".
This place used to be the last bastion for a good cigar, and nice atmosphere - albeit the drinks...
Read moreThe hours posted for this cigar bar are 200p -1100p on Saturdays. I walked in at 1010p on Sat after dinner with intent to order a whisky and cigar. Within two minutes, whichever girl was working on the night of Dec 28th came up to me and said last call had already happened and forcefully turned me away with attitude. She told me with how long it takes to smoke a cigar that she couldn’t serve me. I can smoke the cigar I wanted in under 50 minutes, and can definitely finish a whisky within this time, so I thought this was extremely rude considering how much we already paid this hotel for our stay. She wouldn't even let me order a drink. Maybe she was just having a bad night but I thought this was really poor performance by the staff. Perhaps Churchill Bar and Brown Palace should learn a few things about customer service before I spend any more money at this...
