I recently embarked on a perilous journey into the snowboarding universe, armed only with my sheer determination and a complete lack of knowledge about all things snow-related. In my quest for gear, I entered into the magical haven known as Christy Sports in Frisco, Colorado.
Here, I met Dustin and Jamie, the dynamic duo of snowboarding enlightenment. They not only graciously tolerated my newbie questions but also managed to transform my snowboarding ignorance into something resembling expertise (well, at least I felt like I LOOKED like an expert).
Jamie, the charismatic wizard of the slopes, was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. Imagine a snowboarding guru with a side of charm and a sprinkle of approachability. That's Jamie! He patiently guided me through the daunting process of boot selection, all while maintaining a level of cool that could make a polar bear jealous.
And Dustin deserves a medal for enduring my almost two-hour-long struggle to decide which helmet to call my own. Never once did they rush me, and trust me, I took longer to choose my gear than it takes to build a snowman.
After much contemplation (and possibly a few snow-induced epiphanies), I emerged with a pair of boots, a helmet, and goggles, ready to conquer the mountain. Thanks to Dustin and Jamie, I am now equipped to shred the gnar and dance with the snowflakes.
So, if you find yourself in Summit County facing the daunting task of entering the world of snowboarding or skiing, look no further than Christy Sports. These folks know their stuff, and they'll have you cruising down the slopes like a pro in no time. May your snowboarding adventures be as epic as my shopping experience at Christy...

My family and I travel often around the US to ski. During my stay at Frisco, I had HAD ENOUGH with my ski boots which were hurting my feet since the beginning of the season. I found myself at Christy Sports in Frisco and boy, am I thankful! Jamie performed such MAGIC on my boots, that I insisted my parents check this place out for their rental gear as well. My whole family loved the staff in the rental department and were very happy with their experience as well. Towards the end of the week, my boyfriend and my skis were feeling a bit dull so we knew we had to pop in and see Jamie again, who gave us the sharpest edges I've skied on this season -- No joke!
I cannot rave enough about the service here. No matter how busy it was, we always were given full attention to our needs by Jamie and the staff.
All-in-all, Christy Sports in Frisco feels like a throw back to a better day. As soon as you walk into this ski shop, you are delightfully greeted by the smell of hot ski-wax and a crew of experienced staff! These guys/gals are truly the soul of skiing & just how special the ski community is in Frisco.
As an East-Coaster, I have trouble finding this kind of quality service and delivery where I am from. I guess I will have to make the annual trip back to Frisco each year to get my gear in place! It sounds funny.. but I am serious... this place (and Jamie) is THAT...
Read moreTook my Rossi skis in to be tuned. Picked up next day and went to Copper. Cost &40. Skis just would not perform. They caught, went off in different directions, crossed and although I am an expert skier I could not control them and I was skiing a green. Tried another green run, after switching the skis to other foot thinking maybe they had made them specific to left or right. Still not able to control. Called Christi. They told me to take to Christi shop at the bottom of the B lift. I took bus over as skis were too difficult to ski. Joe who works in repairs told me the Frisco store had failed to untune them- a step intuning which is mandatory. He showed me on my skis what was wrong. He fixed it. We called Christi in Frisco and the guy who answered said he had tuned these skis and had done this step which he clearly had not. They then worked fine snd I skied on them rest of day and Christi in Frisco refunded my $40. BUT the damage to my sol 7 skis is major. . Before they got tuned correctly, they were uncontonrollabkr and were crossi and the tops got scarred and edges cane off on both skis on top. They now look terrible. Yes, bottoms are ok, but tops are a mess forever. Thank god i could wressle them down the hill for my 2 runs before I took them back. A nightmare and I lost a morning skiing and my skis look terrible now. I will never...
