I recently lost my dog (who to me was so much more than a pet) after ten wonderful years together. After he passed, I really wanted a special piece of jewelry (a locket) so that I could keep a photo of him close to my heart always. I thought it would be easy to find such an item, but it really wasnt; it seemed like the only ones I was finding were of low quality that would not stand the test of time or looked like child's jewelry with all the heart shapes and such. I even had a bad experience trying to buy one online and was about to give up on the whole thing when I decided to ask Hancock Jewelers if they could help. I was in Goodlettsville one day and stopped in on a whim and was delighted when they were able to fulfill my request. Even though they didn't have such an item in stock, they took the time to look for one for me that was of the quality I wanted. They special ordered it for me through a reputable vendor of theirs (which was a huge comfort to me after my disappointing online experience). I received above-and-beyond customer service from their associate Debbie, who couldn't have been any nicer about my requests. Today I went to pick up the locket and it was a night-and-day difference to the "white gold" one I had tried to purchase online. It was visibly of high quality and absolutely beautiful (and the price was totally reasonable for the quality). I will surely visit Hancock Jewelers for any of my future jewelry needs. Debbie even helped me pick out a chain that made the locket look even more beautiful. The staff totally exceeded my expectations in finding a piece of jewelry worthy of holding a photo of my very dearest friend. A keepsake I will treasure always. Thank you...
Read moreI went in to Hancock to get some old gold pieces appraised, I was greeted by a nice lady that asked me how she could assist me today, I let her know I potentially wanted to sell some gold pieces. She told me that John would be the one to assist me with that, she went into an office and let him know that a customer was there to sell gold. After a few minutes, he excited the office and said, I'm ready for you . He didn't introduce himself nor ask my name. He started looking at the pieces and then made me an offer of 1,290 but said he would round up to $1,300. Gold is going for $3,672 per ounce as of today. I asked him what they pay out 70%, 80% etc of the value and were the combined metric of the pieces? He said he didn't know he goes by weight, I asked what was the weight? He said he would have to weigh it again.. now during our conversation, the associate that helped me came over to give him a message from a phone call she took where the customer asked for him. He rudely told her to give it another associate, multiple times like he was so annoyed by her trying to give him the message.. she walked away with a look on her face like, what in the world... I thought to myself, if he talks to his coworkers or if she worked for him.. even worse like that, I don't want to do business there. After all this, I started collecting my pieces and said thank you. He told me it was a fair price and most people end up coming back to sell to him. I went to another shop and was offered more than double what John did.. his price was no where near fair and it was actually shady. So John, no I will not be back to...
Read moreI can't say enough good about John and the work he does! I purchased my wedding band from a big name store. After I got married, I took my engagement ring and wedding band back to them to have them soldered together. I asked for the engagement ring to be sized so the bottom of the engagement ring would line up with the wedding band and the detail on the side of the engagement ring could be seen. After having my ring for a month and sending it off three times, it still wasn't right. So I picked it up from them and took it to John because he had the best reviews when it came to work on jewelry! John was very anxious about taking my ring apart because he didn't want to disappoint me or damage the jewelry. He was also concerned since he wasn't the one who originally soldered them together. My husband stopped in the store one day after work to talk it over with him and by the time he left, my rings were apart. After only having my ring for a week, he returned it to me the way I wanted it the day before Mother's Day. I was so excited about getting it back and am absolutely thrilled with the work John did! I constantly have people telling me how beautiful the set is and how nice it looks together, especially being able to see the details on the side of the engagement ring! If you want your jewelry fixed right,...
