We had just gone into the store to have a look around had no plans to purchase a hat. However, after looking around at such beautiful hats, I had to try a few on. Maria was an excellent source of knowledge and was so very kind not trying to sell us anything. She was a pleasure to work with, and although I almost purchased the hat, I decided to think about it as it was quite the investment. My experience with JW Bennett was fabulous! From explaining the pros and cons of each style, and trying on many hats, I was able to find my perfect size, and perfect hat. Then for the fun part - the hat band! My hat had a stitched cloud and Teton range on it already, so I didn’t need too much extra. I was able to try on several hat bands to compliment the hat itself, and settled on two beaded ones to switch out. If you wish, they Will even add a stitch to the band to be sure it won’t fall off, (as I leaned the hard way when one of mine disappeared during a TSA screening.). This was my first time buying a custom hat or a cowboy hat. So I did a ton of research and went to all the other hat shops in town. Their hats are by far the most special. They’re hand made at the shop and the mountain stitching is the subtle touch that takes their hats to the next level! No other hats have that extra flair and they either cost as much (or more), are lower quality, or the salesperson is totally apathetic.
