Went in to get a passport and a visa photo. There was one person behind the counter talking to a customer, and I was told it would be about 5 minutes and was asked if I would like to come back. Since leaving and coming back probably meant he would be taking care of another customer, and I would wait further- I declined, which seemed to perturb him. I went of to a corner of the store to wait while he was conversing with the customer. When the man finally decided to mosey off, unfazed that I had been waiting, the employee just told me to get into position for the photos. I told him again there were two photos, and they had to be different, and then asked how much it would cost. He told me 17 something. He snapped off the first pic as another man came into the store. As the man seemed impatient, the employee went to do the complete transaction with him. I made sure I went over to watch this whole thing, neither said anything to me. Another employee came in, so the first employee told the one who just entered to take the remaining photo, and I had to explain to him again I needed the 2nd to be different than the first, because he didn't understand why he needed another photo. He then charged me double the price the other employee quoted. The first employee, who I think may have been the owner, was simply in another room sitting down not doing anything opted to say nothing. I am accustomed to poor service, but this was pretty flagrant. Don't go in there if you are a single female. You will not be treated...

As a long time resident of JH I am a firm supporter of local businesses. This is also the only camera shop in town and I've shopped here a few times over the years. I have had a few good experiences with the staff being knowledgable, a well stocked inventory and good customer service. However a few years back I had terrible service from a gentleman there. I wrote it off as he might have been having a bad day. After my visit today the same gentleman showed me he clearly was just a pompous arrogant rude man with absolutely no people skills much less customer service. After talking to quite a few local photographers they all validated my thoughts and it turns out he owns the place! So if you are local, I suggest you get your camera/photography needs met online. If you are visiting, take a deep breath, be prepared to be treated like you are a complete idiot, get in and get out fast! This is one local business that will never get another cent out of...

Went in looking for a lens cap and film for my camera since this is the only camera shop in town, and was treated horribly by the staff member. Very gruff attitude and didn’t even try to seem neutral about helping me over the folks looking at pricey lenses. Told another customer to come to the side of the store my friend and I were at as he “needed to keep an eye on us” as I looked at a $10 roll of film and a $6 lens cap. As two adults who are not part of the extremely wealthy class that is common in Jackson, this made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome in this shop. Since I still needed the lens cover and film I did but it, but upon returning home to my camera the lens cover doesn’t even fit correctly. Even though the staff member was insistent that this was what would fit my camera.

Overall would not recommend coming here unless you’re fine with people who will only be kind to you if you’re ready...
