Let’s start by saying that I am an VIB rouge and have been so for the past two years. I spend over $1000.00 a year at Sephora and every time I go there, I get followed around by security as if I’m going to steal something.
Second, I’ve used my VIB rouge perk of getting my makeup done free twice. I got it done by Alexis in March and I looked amazing.
This past Saturday, my sister and I got our makeup done to go to a graduation party. She did not come out looking as bad as I did, but she still was not satisfied.
When I realized how horrible I looked when I got in the car I was angry. We both went home and had to wash our face and re do our makeup. Not only did this waste our time, but we were late to attend the party and we were super upset.
My makeup artist was a nice person, but she can’t do makeup. She did not even ask me if I had oily or dry skin and did not ask what products I would prefer to use. Second, she did not even use setting powder on me or setting spray. The eyeshadow looked horrible and I just looked scary. The eyeshadow was sloppy and was not neat. When she was blending the concealer under my eyes she bumped into my eyes with the beauty blender 4 times. I wear contacts so that was annoying. I got up and looked in the mirror to make sure makeup was not in my eye.
My eyes were closed when she was doing my eye makeup and out of nowhere I feel a wet cloth on my eyes. I realized she was wiping the eye makeup off and that’s when I knew she did not know what she was doing.
I did not complain in the store because I felt bad and I did not have the time. That was my mistake because I realized that I made an appointment and ended up wasting my time and I feel like I can’t use my VIB rouge perks of getting my makeup done free.
I don’t want to return there to get my makeup done unless Alexis does it. My sister and I have gotten our makeup done at Mac before and we did not get an...
Read moreMy daughter and myself have been a Sephora customer for several years. We have never had any bad experience with any of the employees, on the contrary each time I’ve visited the store the employees have alway been very helpful and courteous. However, yesterday my daughter visited the Sephora at Jersey City, Newport Center mall. She entered the store with some of her friends and was looking for an eyeliner she needed to purchase, and the staff was horrendous and unlike any other time we’ve been there. She informed me that as soon as they entered the store, immediately the staff had all eyes on their group. After she was getting assisted by one of the employees, and got the eyeliner she wanted, another employee started speaking to her, unprompted. She said extremely rude things such as “Don’t try anything funny, our security on the cameras is watching you completely.” And “Are you sure you’re good with that? Don’t do anything.” And finally “We’re all watching you extra hard.” She was clearly insinuating and borderline accusing them of thinking of shoplifting. The worst part is that woman also did this to another girl in her group, harassing her for just wanting to shop. This isn’t the only thing that happened, when my daughter moved away from the previous employee, another one was right behind her, eyeing her down and continuously asking if she needed help. After a little bit my daughter asked where to pay, and the lady rudely said “Come with me.” She rushed my daughter to the cashier area and checked out my daughter herself, like she needed to see her pay herself. When her group left the store they still stared at them the whole time. I am infuriated that this happened. My daughter made it very clear to me that the staff made them extremely uncomfortable and angry, rightfully so. I am very dissatisfied with the staff’s treatment and customer service. We will absolutely not be returning to...
Read moreBased on my recent visit on April 6th at 1:30 PM, I strongly advise potential customers to reconsider visiting the Sephora store at Newport Mall due to a disappointing encounter with their cashiers. The lack of professionalism and customer service skills displayed was not only surprising but also detrimental to the overall shopping experience. I hope the management team takes this feedback seriously and invests in further training for their cashiers, as their current behavior could significantly impact the store's reputation negatively.
During my checkout process, a situation arose that was both confusing and unfair. As I was entering my phone number for the transaction, the cashier abruptly cancelled it and asked me to step aside for another customer without any explanation. This unexpected request left me perplexed and somewhat embarrassed in front of other shoppers.
To add to the confusion, when I moved my items to the side, as directed, another cashier told me I couldn't place my belongings there. This left me stranded, with nowhere to place my items and feeling quite unwelcome.
The situation escalated when the initial cashier accused me of not moving quickly enough and shockingly claimed that I was attempting to peek at another customer's credit card information. This baseless and rude accusation made an already stressful situation worse, highlighting a significant lack of judgement and customer service skills.
This entire experience at Sephora, Newport Mall, was not only frustrating but also left a lasting negative impression. Such behavior from the staff is unacceptable and casts a shadow over what should have been a pleasant shopping experience. I urge the management team to address these issues promptly to ensure that no other customer has to go through a...
