2 weeks ago my family and I decided to visit this location to book an appointment for my daughter's upcoming 8th birthday for the following weekend. We hadn't even entered the spa and already the negativity from the staff began. One of the employees, short, wore her hair in a bun (highlights), and a bad attitude sat on a fold out chair outside of the store. I said hello and she smugly says "how can I help you?". Immediately my thoughts were "this girl clearly already does not like us or she hates her job". I tell her about my daughter's upcoming birthday as my daughter clung to my side, and this same employee stares us down from head to toe with same attitude and rudely asked "just her? No one else?". It wasn't a question, it was her making a judgment and that right there made me beyond uncomfortable. I didn't want to have to over explain why we would not be inviting anyone else. Especially when G&G provides 'Individual Service'...I played it cool even though I knew all too well that this girl had the typical JC attitude that I've always avoided during my upbringing in this city. What's worse is she ran to the other employer to make a rude comment about us and they giggled as we approached the computer section for booking. She can deny this all she wants, but we knew. Again, I was respectful but I already knew that I was going to cancel this appointment. I just didn't want my daughter to feel uncomfortable if I decided to storm out. So I committed to booking the appointment. The employer that booked the appt. was "kinder", but fake smiles and the interaction wasn't genuine. I did not want those girls to ruin my daughter's birthday if it was going to be them giving her the spa service. So, exactly what I said I would do, I canceled the newport mall appointment and switched the appt. over to the Paramus Mall location. So glad that I did! The staff at the Paramus location were excellent, made my daughter feel comfortable and they genuinely interacted with her. I don't know what the manager at the newport location was thinking hiring those girls. The...
Read moreI recently celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday at Glitter and Glam in Newport Mall, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! We opted for the RockStar package for her and 10 of her friends, which provided us with one hour and forty-five minutes of pure, delightful party time.
The attention to detail from the Glitter and Glam team was remarkable. They took care of all the decorations, beautifully setting up the table in a way that perfectly captured the theme my daughter adores. The venue looked amazing, and I only needed to bring cupcakes along with some juices and water for the moms.
The owner, Vicky, was incredibly cooperative and kind, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I'm particularly glad that we didn't serve pizza, as it allowed the girls to fully enjoy the array of activities provided. They each had their hair styled with colorful extensions and received manicures and pedicures with their choice of polish. The makeup done in a rock star style was a big hit, and the selection of tutus they could choose from added an extra layer of fun. The highlight was definitely the catwalk, where the girls had a blast showing off their new looks.
We captured so many adorable moments on camera. I also brought my Polaroid camera and gave each girl a special photo with my daughter as a keepsake. Additionally, the goodie bag favors and flip flops I purchased from Glitter and Glam were perfect for our guests.
It's been a while since the party, and my daughter is still buzzing with excitement. She's already expressed her wish to have her next birthday party there too. Thank you, Glitter and Glam, for making my daughter's birthday not just a party, but a...
Read moreI booked a party for 3. I was informed over the phone twice and in person prior to the date, that the party would be private. No walk-ins would be allowed or would there be another party. I paid in advance with options add later while there. There was already a party for two there. When I asked one of girls who works there, she told me the parties are only exclusive when the party is of 5 or more. And that they were in compliance with the malls rules of protocol capacity. They booked and hosted two parties at the same time. I was disappointed and annoyed. It wasn't so much that I wanted exclusivity, but we're currently in a PANDEMIC and I only booked expecting just our party of 3 at the time. Not 2 parties at the same time. The girls didn't get a proper pedi, just feet in colored water and nails painted. The mani also the same, not a proper mani but just nails painted. The facial was just face cream with for a few minutes and that's it. What bothered me was that the females working didn't bother in putting on their face shields when I was told they would when the girls would take their masks off for the facial. The other two in the other party didn't have masks on neither. I thought it would be a real spa experience, just for little girls. What was done, I could've done myself at home. The girls working there need more training. They need to learn how to do proper spa services and how to work properly during this pandemic. I found the entire experience unprofessional during this time of a PANDEMIC. All about safety and it was really not provided. This was supposed to be my child's birthday present and I wasn't happy with how it was...
