Pretty good place to get some footware. I am in fact a major Clark shoes fan, but Sketchers is my go to brand for cheap but decent quality work shoes/sneakers. I often go for the buy one get one 50% off deal. Staff has always been helpful, and prices are good for the quality. So there is little to go wrong with shopping this brand provided you know what to look for.
My personal choice here are black loafer sneakers with flexible soles. That is perfect for most jobs requiring 8+ hours on your feet when paired with Dickies heavy duty work socks.
Why? The lack of flexible shoe soles tend to cause atrophy to the muscles under your feet. Those muscles cushion your from impacts and your weight. I learned this the hard way after buying some Payless sneakers. The loafer aspect helps with comfort and circulation. The flexible soles will allow muscles to flex and grow. Not many she places offer shoes like this at a reasonable price.
Clark shoes in comparison do offer loafers with great function, but they cost 40% more. Clarks though will last longer, but being dress shoes, they scuff too easily while Sketchers will take abuse but not be as evident. Besides, not many shoe store offer loafer sneakers.
My preference for shoes is not suited for everyone, but ask a doctor if you suffer chronic foot pain and then ask about foot atrophy as a...
Read moreSo I don’t have anything against Skechers because I like the brand but I had a terrible experience with the staff at the Newport center. So I had gone there to exchange my sneakers that was a gift and when I went there, the associate by the name Almira started talking rubbish in a loud voice making sure that I was listening. I wanted to exchange the shoe because of the size it was 1 size up. I would know it’s big only when I wear it, which I did and her reaction was unnecessary and very unprofessional (although she wasn’t even the one who was helping us it was the other girl-Adrienne, she was discussing and using words like “bulls**t” even though I was right there looking at her). In the end I did get my size but overall my experience because of her was very unpleasant. The associates are responsible to ensure that customers have a good experience but if there are going to be people like her at the forefront then it is not going to help the store in retaining customers. Not that I will not buy Skechers anymore but I know for sure that I am never going back to...
Read moreI’ve been a Sketcher’s customer for many years and have bought over dozen shoes from different outlets acros US. However, recently I bought hiking shoes from Newport Mall JC outlet for approx $100 from the store. My shoe size is 7.5W. But the hiking shoes of size 8 fit better because of wide feet (they didn’t have any hiking shoes for wide feet) until I wore it for couple of hours on a hike in Maine where it started slipping off and hurting me on the toe which led to an uncomfortable experience. Now when I wanted to return, the staff outright denied it. The shoes are in great condition. They neither did return nor exchange or not even store credits. I could have bought same shoes from Amazon for $40 cheap and still be able to return. These shoes are useless to me. I’ve been a loyal customer but this time I’m extremely...
