I truly cannot believe it, but Bayo and I are fast approaching our 1-year training anniversary. I guess time truly flies when you're having fun getting fit!

A little about me: You can consider me to be the pickiest, highest-standard-having-brat when it comes to trainers. I am a life-long athlete; I played in college; and I've been absolutely spoiled in coaches and trainers along the way. Around a year ago (and after many a boring spin class) I felt ready to head back into the gym, to lift, and work to regain the muscle.
I knew what I was looking for was going to be hard to find. I needed to find a trainer who understood what my body is capable of (while considering my injuries), and also, who could create killer and exciting workouts that yielded results.
I found all that and much more in Bayo and Alternative Fitness Training.
A lot about Bayo: Bayo is absolutely awesome! Bayo is a trainer who lives, breaths, and graciously teaches fitness and wellness in totality. As someone who is on a fitness journey, he is a constant source of inspiration to me and constantly gives such helpful affirmation, too.
I knew my research had paid off as soon as I walked into Bayo's gym in Downtown Los Angeles. Bayo has a super clean space with a very cool layout and so many pieces of equipment. When we first met we chatted for a bit about my goals, did some measuring, and then got to working out.
It was so great meeting a trainer who was both as serious but also as laid back as I! I truly felt so lucky to have found him. And basically, I've been hooked ever since. I have even recently upped to seeing Bayo 3 times a week for 1-hour.
I have absolutely seen the exact changes I wanted to see in my body, and I owe that to Bayo - even though he would never take credit! He is a master of his craft. He is very knowledgeable in sports, fitness, health and dietary needs, and caters specific to your goals. I personally have a background in playing D1 Football and was blessed with the opportunity to sign with 2 NFL teams. I've worked with numerous strength and conditioning coaches and I can honestly say that Bayo has been one of the best professional trainers that I've ever trusted with my fitness, health and wellness programs. One thing that I love about going to Function Fitness Gym is that he never repeats his workouts and has a wide range of options to help with general cardio and strength conditioning. He's also a great listener and explains each exercise carefully, making sure the right muscles are engaged. He's always positive, encouraging and patient and knows how to make the workout fun, effective and challenging. My wife and I trained with Bayo to get ready for our wedding and we couldn't of picked a better trainer. We both reached our weight goals and had the highest confidence for the biggest day of our lives. Read moreBayo is amazing! My husband and I have been training separately with him for a few months and really loving it. We're getting visibly stronger while also learning so much about proper form and how to avoid injury. I came in with some chronic back pain that flared up with any exercise I did, and now I'm back on my feet, feeling a lot better and slowly starting to be able to lift heavier again. Bayo definitely knows a lot about functional fitness which I love because in my mid-40's I not only want to be in great shape now, I want to keep moving well in to my 70's and 80's. He's also got a lovely, kind personality but just because he's super nice don't think he'll go soft on you, you will work hard! He also gives great tips on diet and recovery that really help round out your training.
The gym itself is bright and sunny, and immaculately kept. Lot's of great equipment and variety so you won't get bored.
