I know Dennis Prager slightly, and Roger Stuart clothes is a long time advertiser of his. When I needed a new suit for a wedding, I decided, just for the heck of it, to make the trip downtown.
It was worth it, even with having to pay $12 for parking.
The store itself is clean, well set up and easy to shop in. And the helpful and knowledgeable sales staff makes it even better. My sales person, Robert Fisher was a total pro and helped me find exactly what I wanted for less than I was prepared to pay, and I wound up with a wonderful high quality all wool Italian suit for less than $300 including tax.
Speaking of which, RSC only handles all wool, top quality stuff, no polyester blends or other crap. There are indeed places you can get a suit for less, but it won't be of this kind of quality. Given what RSC is selling, this is incredible value for money.
Some things to know...while RSC can set you up with someone to do alterations, like most other places you pay extra. Unlike most other places, it's not an in house tailor, which I actually prefer since I have a great tailor and I have found that a lot of the in house tailors in these places just aren't all that good. You are better off with your own tailor.
Next, parking is easily available right next door to the store. There's a $12 maximum, but the lot is secure and well run, and it's not too bad for something in the middle of the garment district, since you might want to browse in other shops and get a little more mileage for your $12. There is a store next to the parking lot that validates with purchase, so maybe you could buy something cheap like a tie or a belt, and then hit RSC, although I didn't do that.
Anyway, I had a great experience at RSC. I will definitely be going back. They earned every one of...
Read moreI had an outstanding experience at Roger Stuart Clothes in DTLA. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and felt completely at ease. David helped me personally and he was absolutely phenomenal â knowledgeable, professional, and spot-on with recommendations. He knew my size and style immediately and guided me toward options that truly fit me.
Although the store carries off-the-rack suits, David helped me find a couple of blazers/sport coats that fit perfectly and matched what I was looking for. The layout of the store made it easy to browse, and the entire process felt smooth and enjoyable.
This was one of the highlights of our trip â great clothes, excellent service, and an environment where we felt safe and well taken care of. I highly recommend Roger Stuart Clothes, especially if youâre looking for a personalized and professional shopping experience. And most of all,...
Read moreI bought my suits at Roger Stuart Clothes beginning in the 1970s, until I retired in 2015. And, I intend to drop by soon to buy a suit that looks good and is in fashion.
Short story: I was picking a jury in L.A. Superior Court. A prospective juror asked to speak to the judge in chambers. In chambers, the young man pointed to me and my associate (who also shops at Roger Stuart) and said that he didn't think he could be fair to my client (the State) because the State hired these high-priced lawyers with their fancy suits, whereas the plaintiff just "hired a regular lawyer." We were State employees, and probably earned half of what the "regular lawyer" made. We just knew where to shop for quality suits!
P.S. Look closely during the "steal the mannequin" scene in the Netflix Jeffrey Dahmer documentary. You'll see the Roger Stuart Clothes sign in the...
