STAY AWAY! This place is not what it used to be like when “Jose,” the other brother, was there. The single brother working there with the nephew are both very rude. They weigh the gold very inaccurately and think they are the only ones selling quality gold to justify there outrageous gold prices. They know exactly who to prey on (the Hispanic community). My family has shopped at this place for over 15 years and we recently stopped altogether because they are no longer trustworthy. If you do not know about gold they will sell you hollow for the price of solid. Over tens of thousands of dollars purchased from MAZATLAN when they were literally the best on broadway. Now, I wouldn’t spend a dollar with them. BEWARE. If you have doubts of the integrity of my claims, please read the reviews of many Hispanic people complaining about magnetic chains among other issues. I was referred to Mazlatan Jewelers in the Diamond District in Downtown Los Angeles not too long ago and decided to check them out since I was looking for a Miami Cuban solid gold bracelet. When I went, I was greeted with warm welcomes from the owners and even security. I felt so safe browsing in there with the security by the door the whole time. Omid was the kind gentleman who helped me out. He showed me a few options and ended up having the exact item I’ve been long looking for that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I ended buying the same day and didn’t need to look any further because Omid with Mazlatan Jewelers had very fair prices and amazing customer service. He knew so much about gold, jewelry, and took my comfort into consideration when showing me options. He really paid attention to detail and it ultimately sold me at the end of the day. Spent $3450 on a chain from this Mazatlan Jewlers. Sometime later, I tested the chain with a magnet. Gold isn’t magnetic. Two of the gold links were magnetic. I tested it at a pawnshop and a jewelery shop. Both owners of the pawnshop and jewelry shop had issues with the magnetic links. I returned to Mazatlan Jewelers and they refused to refund me or replace the magnetic links. They did an acid test which the results were 14k but the owner would not recognize the magnetic test. In owners response, he states he offered a full refund if I really want one. C'mon, I showed with the chain to the business to resolve the issue, I asked for a full refund or exchange the links but owner wanted to argue the situation. As owners and honorable businessmen, you should have replaced the links or I should have been given a full refund on the spot. I got neither. Is that customer service?
