Spent $400 on half highlights and specifically asked for no gold/brassiness, showing photos of my usual creamy blonde. The owner (Corinne) insisted a little gold was fine and that most clients “freak out” unnecessarily at the mention of gold — then proceeded to give me exactly that. I left with a harsh yellow-gold blonde I’ve never had in my life.
I returned a week later for a toner, which only slightly improved the color and faded back to yellow within three weeks. I was told it was due to prior stylist damage (though I’ve never had an issue with the stylist I’ve had for 5+ years), mineral build-up, or “California water.” If that were true, I would have walked in with yellow hair — which I absolutely did not.
Multiple other stylists told me the work was so poor that I should request a full refund. After days of back-and-forth, I requested a partial — since I had to pay another stylist $200 to fix it. Instead, they offered a third visit at my expense and refused even a partial refund. The stylist even sent me photos of my hair after the dye job, claiming the orange/gold tone was due to my “natural hair changing color” — something no other stylist has ever suggested, and which she mentioned only after I requested a refund. Also — why was it orange / gold if the foils had been done properly? No blonde job should be that color if done correctly. It was pretty clear she gave me gold and was unable to fix it by toner alone (which would have been impossible to do) but rather than admitting she messed up, she blamed my hair quality and came up with every creative excuse under the sun to avoid accountability. Whether just super transactional or financially desperate, the gaslighting and minimization to avoid refunding a blatantly bad $400 job is unacceptable.
The new stylist corrected it easily with fresh foils, proving the issue was poor technique, not my hair. I’m now out $600+ for what should have been basic blonde highlights — poor work, bad excuses, and zero accountability. Super embarrassing that not only are they ok with this level of poor workmanship but that they are ok with openly scamming clients like this. Worst salon...
Read moreVisiting LA for two days noticed the gals have a good hair look atm. A quick google search landed me at Park and Eve where Chelsea accepted a booking right away and worked with my hair’s unique texture and specifications. I left with an affordable Bardot Fringe including great disconnected licks and curls. Chelsea is also a genuine, warm, welcoming presence and responsive listener. Her little loft salon feels like a secret gem that could only happen in DTLA, plus she is using almost all Oribe products so you leave in a soft cloud of that perfect, Oribe jasmine beach smell. Top notch salon treat for...
Read moreMegan is AMAZING!!! I had a moment and cut my own hair at home in the middle of the night (haven't we all?) Made an appointment at random for the next morning with the first available stylist......and when I say MEGAN fixed a catastrophe.....like 🥰😍🥰. I would love to see what she could have done if I hadn't tried to do it myself first. She put love into my hair and didn't sell me anything I didn't need. She put off the upsell of bleaching/highlights for the health of my hair which is so special! She listened, kept it feminine, even managed to save a shorter version my curls 🥲....
