So long Home Depot. Hello Loweâs!...
It boggles my mind how such a large company that proudly boasts such an outstanding customer service, has such un-outlined Protocol For consistent customer service for every dept in a multitude of possible situation... Now this is a rant but a warranted one so hear me out... I shop at Home Depot very regularly. Iâd say 2-3 times a week. Never walking out without buying something. I go to multiple stores in my area to find multiple selections but always been loyal to homedepot always shopping in the same areas, lumber, hardware, and paint. I shop the lumber I every time and always look over the 70% off pieces and free scraps because number one I would prefer to recycle and reuse rather than waste. And number two who doesnât love 70% off precut pieces for projects. This particular time I had my arms full of regular priced things I needed. And was now shopping the 70% off lumber and free Scraps which are small pieces that have been cut off large pieces. I do know the company does return some scraps back to the vendor for a percentage of the actual price. However when scraps are so small enough that theyâre being thrown away And I retrieve them from the trash can by the lumber cutting station... I expect those pieces to be free. When I looked for an orange apron to help me ensure I would have no issues at the checkout I found this one orange apron working the area and he was extremely busy because he had a lot of customers all needing his help but my request was very direct very obvious and shouldâve been no problem and taken him 30 seconds to do what they always did however another orange apron who was working the cashier stepped in cut me off and incorrectly asked the associate I was speaking to her version of my question for me. Clearly guiding him to the answer she wanted to get, which was that they would charge me 70% off on EACH of three small pieces that in total wouldâve cost more than the original piece which was 10 times the size and would still need to have cut taking up more of their time, my time plus wasting more product but they looked at me as though I was trying to steal these pieces of scraps again that I retrieved from the trashcan they were now insisting they charge me more than the original larger piece itself. They refused to take the time to understand the logic in what I was telling them. in frustration I walked over grabbed a full piece of the same product for nearly 1/2 the price they wanted to charge me and asked the same guy if he could then cut the same three pieces I held before precut. He then said we donât cut that because itâs too thin I needed to cut it myself... this was a good sized piece of mdf that is not easily cut with the precision of the original scraps. That clearly had just been cut for a previous customer otherwise the scraps would not have been so cleanly cut in the trash by the cutting station... I was so frustrated with the overall rudeness, the inconsistency and being treated like Iâm an idiot by THE IDIOT HIMSELF. I set my $40 worth of other merchandise down in the isle where we stood so my message was very clear... and for the first time in my life I walked out of Home Depot without buying a single thing. As hard as it has been for me I have not set foot inside a Home Depot since. This was nearly 4 weeks ago. Iâm struggling but adjusting to Life at Loweâs where they have noticed and made sincere mention of appreciation for the frequency of my visits.... So long Home Depot....
Read moreLocated on Sunset & Western Ave behind the new Target. Huge parking lot with an additional upper level available. Try to avoid making a trip between 4pm-8pm as it gets congested with heavy traffic. Also, make sure to have all your windows rolled up and doors locked because as soon as you enter the lot, about 12 Hispanic gentlemen will run up to your vehicle yelling "you need worker, you have job, c'mon I work for you no problem!?" and won't be wearing a mask. After making it through the small job fair while pretending like you don't hear or see them by having a fake conversation on your phone that never rang or suddenly needing to adjust the treble and bass settings on the stereo, the next challenge is a parking spot near the front of the store. Chances are you're going up the ramp to the upper level since everyone loves the front. I'd recommend doing research online about the product you need beforehand or go ahead and start your 3 mile walk up and down each of the 70 aisles until you find it since all 75 employees on the sales floor will have no clue what it is or where it's located. I asked where I would find curtain rod brackets, the first person sent me to an aisle that had hinges and door handles. The second person I asked sent me to an aisle filled with carpets and rugs. So I figured I'd make it a little easier for them by showing a picture on my phone of what a curtain rod bracket looks like while this third person seemed like a real pro and seasoned vet, but sure enough Iâm in an aisle looking at stoves and refrigerators. Now I give them the benefit of the doubt like maybe I asked someone new and guess what happened when I asked where the velcro tape would be? The fourth person I asked sent me to the aisle way over towards the wall, which from where I was standing could see, so I asked him why would curtain rod brackets be in the aisle with lumber? I basically found everything myself after criss-crossing the whole store which is the size of a two city blocks. The prices are decent, store location is average, excellent daily parking lot hiring event to recruit laborers that might accept a McDonalds combo meal as payment, dozens of Ace Hardware employees on the sales floor wearing Home Depot aprons and orange name tags delivering terribly horrendous customer service experiences. Overall, 1 star and highly recommended to visit...
Read moreWe placed an order for a new LG refrigerator and was expecting it to be delivered today (06/28) between 1-5pm. In an anticipation of new fridge, we spent whole morning cleaning out the old one. Around 2 p.m, we received a call from delivery guy that he'll be here in about 20-30 minutes, and at 2:40ish, delivery guy arrived at the gate and we received a call from the apartment gate, in which we opened the gate and gave them an instruction to take an elevator. However, even after 40 minutes of unlocking the gate for the delivery people, no one came. It felt strange, so we went down to the apartment gate to see what was going on, and that's when we realized that there's no one, no truck parked in front of our apartment complex. The Delivery Guy WAS here at our apartment complex, and dialed from the gate to have us unlock it but never bother to come up. Around 3:30ish, we call the delivery guy's number that we first received an ETA call from, he did not pick up the first two calls, and when I called using different cell, he picked up but mumbled that he had other deliveries to make, when we were the very next one on delivery queue. He did not clarify anything, and literally hung up on me when I was asking him question. After that, he either turned off the cell or kept ignoring my number, because we were not able to get a hold of him at all. (we tried calling about 10 times, in which we got ignored for all). What an amazing service to receive after spending more than 1000 dollars and spending entire morning cleaning and anticipating for a new fridge. Not only have we cancelled this order, we will never use Home Depot for similar service ever again in the future. It's an absolute shame for Home Depot to be only able to provide such low quality service; we will just use this as an opportunity to learn that Home Depot will never be in our consideration when purchasing these appliances. Thank you so much...
