My initial call to reserve a vehicle with Avis was stellar, but unbeknownst to me the agent was not truthful with the type of vehicle available at the Morrow, Ga location. Before I even landed in Atlanta, I received a voicemail from Avis, Morrow, Ga to say they do not have a Mustang Convertible available and do not carry luxury vehicles. They only have a mini van available. I decided to try to resolve while in the airport. The line was very long with over 50 people waiting to be helped. I finally got to the window and the agent could not assist in providing me a vehicle at the same rate, the current rate was significantly more. I was not happy. My flight arrived on time, but I was stuck at the airport dealing with car rental issues that stressed me out completely. I waited in this long line over an hour only to be told I have to call an request to speak to a Supervisor. I waited on hold for 45 mins. and once I got a live person I was told I was now calling after my pickup time...I mentioned my 45 min wait just to speak to someone. The person then put me on hold without asking and seconds later the call was dropped. I was never asked for a number to reach me on in the event we are disconnected for any reason. By this time my family is calling and texting to see where I am and what's the delay. I went back to the counter and the agent then suggested I proceed to the Morrow, Ga location to pickup said Mini van. I'm traveling alone, had no need for a mini van and was extremely agitated, but I proceeded to request an Uber to take me to that location almost 10 miles away, not knowing if they still had any vehicles available or not. While waiting for the Uber I made several more attempts to reach the Morrow, Ga location to no avail. When I arrived, I was told they had an SUV available. The agent did not check or inspect the vehicle w/me. I noticed the tire pressure light on, but I trusted Avis would not rent a problematic vehicle. Big mistake. Tire...
Read moreFor anyone going here for the express drive program thru Lyft here’s all I went thru and the process. You book your reservation via the Lyft app. Your "major" credit or debit card will be charged $250 and you will not receive it back until you return the car in "good" condition. A day before your scheduled appointment to pick up the vehicle you will receive an email from Avis-Lyft stating everything you need to know about pickup and some of their policies and charges. They will provide an email in there where you can contact them if you have questions or concerns. There is absolutely no phone support for express drive. Only email. When you arrive they will ask for your major credit or debit card, (they do not accept online banks) along with your drivers license. This card will be charged if you do not have enough money to cover your rental whilst driving for express drive and it will be charged for any incidental purposes. After they get your card info clear you will then go to view an on boarding video that is about 30 mins long. When the video is over a representative will come in and ask you if you have questions. They tell you about incidental charges and claims and accidents and requirements such as not taking the car out of state. Once done with that, they will show you the vehicle they’ll be giving you. You cannot choose, and you’ll walk around the car. They claim they take video of scratches or damage but take your own video. I would also test drive the car before having taken the vehicle for so long because they don’t speak of how the car runs. The service team is open only mon thru fri 7 am to 2:45 pm and the office is open mon thru fri from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. In my experience they’re quick to respond to emails but I do not know about after business hours. I had no issues with the staff so far however I do feel as if they could respond to emails in a more professional way. The office space they have for express drive...
Read moreThey have been awesome. I've been needing a rental car for about six weeks now, and until I can buy car I will continue to need a rental, and they have just been great. I would recommend them any day.
Since the general public is not allowed to comment on people's reviews, I'm going to make one or two points here that I believe people will find important if they are reading some of the more negative reviews.
It may look like there's a lot of cars there for rent but please note they have a very small section that is rental most of the cars are Avis sales, which means they are no longer available for rental use. That would be so they can purchase newer vehicles for you to rent. Secondly I'm sure this is not the only business you have ever dealt with where the computerized side and The human side somehow did not connect. Just because there was a glitch in the technical systems of the Avis corporation as related to the morrow rental, does not mean those wonderful employees are responsible for the glitch. Reservations done through the app or online go through a corporation computer system, and there's no way to guarantee that it updates in real time, even if it is supposed to.
So please let me repeat myself from the beginning of my, at the Morrow Avis they are awesome.! If you are expecting the world no rental location our company will provide it.
And for the person who said they didn't get their fees back in a timely manner, that is your bank not Avis. I started a new reservation yesterday, and my security deposit was back in my account...
