I waited on my review but after reading other reviews on the page. I'm am very frustrated after being Natural 5 years . I usually straighten my hair once a year and I just moved to the south side so I gave the place a try purely off the good reviews here on Google...... Silly me right? RIGHT!
I went in and ask for a a simple wash and blow. The girl I didn't get her name but if I saw her I could definitely point her out. Before starting my hair I let them know I needed to be deep conditioned. Lady says okay and proceeds to wash my hair. She just put deep condition in combed through my hair and washed it out.
No rollers just straight to the chair where she proceeded to blow dry my hair after she got almost to the middle of the back of my head I stop and asked her if she used a heat protectant because I smelled my hair burning!!! I've had heat damage years ago before so I know! So her and the women across assured me no worries she's not burning your hair!
Long story short I let her finish because I was about to be running late to work .
Here we are 3 months later and my hair is trashed and damaged beyond repair I'm gonna have to cut all my hair off to start over!
I have gone through so many bottles of conditioner and coconut oil and nothing has worked my hair is still shedding like a bad bundle!!
I'm heartbroken I'd really like to know if that shampoo girl is licensed if not I may look into legal actions šš¤·š½āāļø
I'm gonna be bald this summer smh
Update * I waited because I was on new medication and didn't want to leave a review so quickly and it be the medication. But yes my hair is completely heat damaged my Natural hair has never been the same...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo be fair, I waited to do this review as to not rush to judgement. The environment is welcoming (although they will fuss about who has to deal with customers with thick natural hair as if it's too much work... I understand that!!! I didn't wanna do my own hair that day either), the washer has hands of magic, and it's easy to get in and out. My ends were a mess so I asked for a wash, deep condition, blowout and trim. This was my first blow out and I left with hair so straight it was like I had a perm. Yay!!! Would've lasted for more than 2 weeks but I had to clean my scalp.
However... my hair was burnt, smelled that way for almost 3-4 weeks even after washing it several times, there was breakage, my natural curls are GONE and my hair is still straight throughout my head even though I have used NO HEAT. Now 6 weeks later as my hair is growing out it is clear I will have to cut it all off again since there is a VAST difference in the texture (damage). I'm sure blowouts don't last that long or survive that many shampoos. I'm wondering if relaxer/texturizer was added to the shampoo or conditioner since I now look like I have new growth and am in need of a touch up.
Sweet people but I won't go back out of fear that my hair will be further damaged or texturizing chemicals applied without my knowledge. Rosa was nice and interacted with the customers, the other lady who did my hair wore headphones the whole time and did her job while seemingly tuning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis hurts me to have to give Rosieās a bad review but I want to make sure ppl understand some of the disadvantages of getting their blow dried here before itās too late. I had a great experience at Rosieās, everyone was professional, the place was clean and I was in and out in no time- HOWEVER- I went there with my hair tangled, understanding, that beautify and have certain products and equipment to rectify this much easier than me doing it myself. They put 0 product on my hair during the detangling process. Mind you, I have 4b-4c hair. They literally ripped through it to get it untangled, there was a glob of hair as thick as my fist when they were done. We went through the process and at the end my hair was BONE straight which isnāt my preference since not working my hair since 2012. It also had a burn smell that lasted for about 3 weeks. Now itās about 2 months later and Iām seeing breakage from the root of my hair. I went to a hair consultation and they told me hair has been burned off from the other follicles. My hair is extremely thin and damaged and itās so unfortunate because I was just getting to a good place with my hairās strength and luster. I learned my lesson by not doing my regular routine silk press and hydration treatment. Im sorry to have to report this because I actually liked it there but wanted to save someone from...
