I am writing to you today to express my utmost appreciation for the hard work and determination of Mike Marsenovic, a building manager of Aurora and the other employees as well. He has always responded so quickly when I need something and works tirelessly to get things done. I had an issue with my refrigerator door not closing and asked the apartment building to replace it before renewing my lease. Mike said he would be more than happy to and wheeled the large refrigerator in with one other person. Getting on the floor, drenched in sweat, and determined to make it fit. It took 30-40 minutes moving the refrigerator back in and out to ensure it fit properly in the space. I was impressed with how much he knew about the refrigerator and his effort in making sure it worked perfectly before he left. I have not had issues with the refrigerator since.
Next I also had a large headboard delivered that the delivery company left inside with the doorman, rather than deliver it to my apartment as pod for. Mike told me not to worry and had one of the employees help me carry it up from the lower level elevators to my bedroom. He texted me later to ensure it was in place and if I needed anything else.
Additionally, I’ve had two other things delivered and they have been delivered with ease. Even when the delivery company shows up hours earlier than initially scheduled, he accommodates me and my needs before his own inconveniences and makes it happen.
Lastly, I was getting new furniture and had to dispose of a dresser from a previous roommate. I asked the doorman if we could bring the dresser down to the lower level for disposal and Mike said sure. I unconsciously brought downs side table, a mattress, and a large metal bed frame I had trouble breaking down with screws. Mike appeared stressed when looking at me when I said I brought more things for disposal to the lower level but he said “no problem, I will try and break down the bed frame so that you aren’t charged for disposal.” Even though I was planning on moving the bed frame back to my apartment and or attempt move the screws myself once again, he insisted he would take care of it. That my friends is customer service beyond measure. I’m very impressed.
These are prime examples of a person committed to providing excellent services on the basis of caring for the tenants in an era where customer service is far from sublime. I cannot express my gratitude enough for this guy. He consistently delivers and delivers and is extremely resolute and conscientious about details. Despite not having the maintenance guy around, Joe Muniz, he seems to be getting things done even before and he said I could text him at anytime. He said that even though he lives in the building he makes himself available at any time when he is needed. He even worked extra hard to fix the air conditioning on a very hot weekend morning and fixed it within a few hours. Mike has told me of his dedication to providing excellent services but seems to also desire to spend time with his daughter that he gets every few weekends. Despite every obstacle, he always has a smile on and asks the residents how we are doing. And he seems to know quite a few.
I have also worked with Priscilla in the leasing office to make the gym 24 hours since I work nights at the hospital, and the other doormen have helped me continuously with various things—even carrying heavy groceries. I’m so impressed.
As someone who works in healthcare to strive to provide excellent care for my patients. I can say with conviction that Mike does the same with his job and deserves compensation accordingly. I have lived in the city 5 years and have had countless of great people working at buildings I have lived in but Mike and the other staff is are by far the best of the best! I can’t say it...
Read moreI have lived at the Aurora for over two years and absolutely love it.
First off, this building had the perfect balance of high-class with the right amenities compared to other buildings in the area - it has a rooftop with an amazing view, doorman, gym, and bike/storage access. I would have never used a building library, movie theater, or pool that you pay more for in other buildings.
Second, the apartments themselves are top notch. Floor-to-ceiling windows with NYC skyline views, soft-close drawers, name brand finishes, large sinks, dishwasher, sleek built in appliances, central air/heat, it’s all fantastic.
The staff is also amazing - there has been practically no turnover in the 2+ years I’ve been here and they are all not only sweet but make me feel secure living there. The resident manager, Mike Marisenovic, is fantastic - he's taken care of all of our needs.
There’s a small park right out front that is kept up by City Parks staff daily, we walk our dogs there and I’ve never run into shady characters. The police station is only 2 blocks away too! There’s easy access to a full bodega right out front plus two subway stations that are VERY close (E/M/R and N/W/7) and two more within decent walking distance (G, F). There’s also free street parking!! Life saver. I’ve read complaints about the noise but have never had that issue myself - maybe it’s because I live in a corner unit. If you open all of the windows you can faintly hear the above-ground subway... but it’s Queens, you’ll have that issue literally anywhere. Put up curtains and sleep with an air filter at night, that’s what we do!
It is fantastic that the elevator goes straight to the 15th floor since the lower floors are accessed via a separate hotel entrance... you get to live high up AND with very few stops on the way up/down every single day. Amazing. The elevator has been out of service a few times but let’s be real, it’s only one of the two. I’ve never had to climb the stairs (I wouldn’t! hah), just wait a few extra minutes.
All in all... love it here. Couldn’t have picked a better building...
Read moreBe careful of being over charged as a rent stabilized building. Find rent history on government DHCR website and file a complaint. Inflated rent without washer/dryer in unit. Laundry room only has 3 machines often needs a long wait. 1 of 2 elevators often down, 30 minutes long wait for a ride. Hot water is not stable sometimes outage. Wall is thin. Noise pass through from neighbors all the time.
View is fine but way too loud on passing train noise!! It’s very difficult to sleep!! Super, handyman and doorman Mike (the older guy with glasses) all talk obnoxiously loud in public and ignorant. Doorman Mike always plays very loud music in the lobby like it’s his own home basement. He is the most rude giving an aggressive attitude to yell at any guests or visitors come by. Anyone visited all left with a bad impression.
At year end the super Stefan sent out a whole building wide email asking every tenant to give a holiday tip is laughably blunt as it gets. Soon followed by his 2nd email especially addressing those who paid will be remembered. Funny and ironic. 2 emails in a row reminding all not to use the lounge because he rents out for money. Really I don't need to receive so many OCD type of emails from a super on daily basis. Unprofessional. He is a handyman turned into a super with no management skill or any knowledge of law. He ran straight to tenant door to put up sign for humiliation. Nonstop continuous harassment on daily basis to cause disturbance on purpose. It is not a home or fam when treated disrespectfully by the amount of year end tip paid. Expensive and unhealthy to live in such a hostile harassment environment.
