Finback Brewery - LIC — Restaurant in New York

Finback and the experience their events team provided truly gained them some customers for life. In what was an incredibly stressful situation, we reached out to Finback on the Monday of our wedding week when another local brewery where we planned to host a welcome event informed us they were permanently closed. Niko and the Finback team came to our rescue and helped coordinate making a space available for our anticipated ~100 guests. Conveniently, their LIC location was right next door to one of our hotel blocks where a number of guests were staying. Niko was very communicative throughout the process and responded to each of my emails within 30 minutes. Confirming contract/minimum details with Niko was a breeze, and Mike (their taproom manager) and bartenders at the LIC location made all our guests feel at home. The beer and alcohol selections were fantastic and the guests loved the dumplings we chose through their food program. I was thrilled to visit Finback's brand new LIC location, which finally opened its doors on this week, December 20th 2023. It's fantastic to see even more breweries popping up in this area, and the convenient location right near the subway station makes it an easy destination.

The interior offers a laid-back feel, kind of like a cool neighborhood hangout rather than a traditional brewery. It might not be the largest of their three locations in NYC. And of course they have about 20 rotating taps offering a wide range of beers, from light and crisp pilsners to rich and pastry imperial stouts, also they have cocktails, wines. Surprisingly, they also serve non-alcoholic gin and you can also drink non-alcoholic gin and tonics if you like. Anyway, I'm particularly excited to see what unique brews (mixed-culture beers) they'll have specifically for this new location.

Overall, I had a great first experience at Finback LIC. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, the beer selection is impressive. I can't wait to go back and see what other surprises they have in...

After living in LIC for years and anxiously awaiting the opening on Finback, we moved out on Long Island and haven’t been in the area to experience the new bar. Finally made it back this weekend and we were excited to check out the new location.

The beer was great, tons of options, all severed perfectly fresh and cold. The space also really welcoming with a cool retro vibe. I felt instantly at home and wished we still lived in the area.

The unfortunate part was the service. The two bartenders were both seemingly checked out and not interested at all. I’m perfectly ok with bartenders not being chatty or super outgoing, but I felt like whenever we ordered or got their attention we were bothering them. That’s not the way you want to feel at a bar. Mind you this was around 4pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the place maybe had 10 people, so it wasn’t busy at all.

I’d probably come back for the drinks and the delicious Asian foods, but hope there are either new bartenders or maybe the two there are having...
