A homeless guy who walked into the store today was being brutally mocked (verbally and physically) by the check out clerk. She wasn’t simply asking him to leave, she was being unnecessarily mean and hurtful. I live around the corner and come here often for the sake of connivence. I’ve only seen this particular clerk twice, but, a more senior staff member (owner?) who I see almost every visit, stood beside her and did nothing, even as I politely reprimanded her, saying “There is no need to be nasty about it”. Behavior like this is childish, mean and uncalled for. I felt so bad for the guy. If it had just have been the one clerk, I’d write it off as a serious mis-step, but to have two people there, be reprimanded by a totally separate customer, and to still do nothing, really tarnished my view of this...
Read moreGreat ambiance at this place with friendly staff. I recently saw a review saying they don’t serve people of color, which is odd because every person who works here is a person of color. We came in with a group of two black girls, one hispanic girl, one white girl, one black man, one white man, and one hispanic. They saw we were drunk and turned the whole store into a dance floor for us. Music loud, employees dancing with us, etc. Was a beautiful experience. These people are kind. I’m sure if you treat them with respect, they will treat you with respect as well.
