I hate writing bad reviews but I had a very bad experience here. Let me just say the actual denim is amazing. I have had two pairs of jeans from Naked and Famous that have lasted me ten years that I bought from a store in Seattle called Blue Owl. So I wanted to buy my partner a pair from here for his birthday. The staff was rude and dismissive to us as if we were wasting their time when we asked to try on different fits to see what would look best on my partner. This in itself is not great, but hey, service work can be tough! I understand. The thing that makes this place deserve one star is the differential treatment. We were treated like we were peasants who did not belong there. But other customers were treated very well. We were told the size in the specific fit and color we were looking for was out and told to try online (even though we also wanted the clothing hemmed which they do in store). And then I immediately overheard him tell another customer to come back in a month when things would be back in stock. We would ask to try on another fit and he acted like we were wasting his time. Another customer would do the same and he would immediately help them and give them advice. This is one of those things where you can't prove anything but the fact is we were a gay couple and the rest all appeared to be straight men. And that's the only thing I could think of that differentiated us from the others. Extremely disappointing. My recommendation: don't buy from here. If you're ever in Seattle, go to Blue Owl to buy Naked and Famous denim. There they don't treat you like second...
Read moreDenim is in the details at Naked and Famous and I was floored by the customer service Sunday.
Found just a short walk from Canal station off Broadway lies the only Naked & Famous store. Period. Despite the brand being carried in countless retailers for over a decade, this is it and worth a visit for the "Fade Wall", dressing rooms (4) and flooring alone. You'll have to trust me here....
The center of the store is like a Lazy Susan complete with their latest/greatest on display. It really provides you the opportunity to not only see what's new but feel. In some cases, smell - Scratch n' Sniff baby! It can be overwhelming as no two pairs are alike so take your time.
Having been a long time N&F customer, this was the first opportunity I'd ever had to try on such a huge selection of denim styles and fits without dealing with returns. Furthermore, I could check out the much slept-on shirting, hoodies and t-shirts I hadn't seen at other retailers. Strongly encouraged IMO.
Sales Associate Shane was patient and clearly knowledgeable. I could not be more appreciative for his time. He answered ALL my questions and BS'd while juggling hemming and other customers. Give the man a raise!
While I ended up having to order online due to being sold out (sizing), I could not have made the best purchase without Shane's guidance and recommendations. Much appreciated. I look forward to returning trips and hopefully grabbing a pair of their NYC store exclusive when the...
Read moreI’ve been researching denim brands and noticed this one was fairly popular in the denim community. I finally had a chance to visit their shop in New York City and wasn’t expecting extraordinary service or an experience different than anywhere else. However, the staff were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgable. I had a great time learning more about the companies history and different types of denim. I was also able to try on everything that I wanted in order to make the best purchasing decision, which was to buy every pair of jeans in my size and type that were available. I was so happy with my experience that I ended up buying two awesome posters with their logo on it that are actually printed on denim! I’m so excited to buy their Made in Japan edition jeans when the next ones are released. I also hope I can get lucky and catch a restock of their New York edition Jeans that you can only buy in store, which they were out of in my size unfortunately. Lastly, I read a review somewhere that you are not allowed to try on jeans in store or that the staff were strict about it if they let you. This is definitely not true so I’m debunking that myth now. If you are going to New York City and even if you are not going to Manhattan specifically, this place is worth a special trip. If you are into Jeans or just quality clothing, you will not be...
