Sweety Salon NYC — Local services in New York

So I booked online, I selected gel fill from another salon and extensive nail art thinking the charge was reflected on the website. I get there and the first thing they say is “we don’t do gel fill from another salon” and I said, “literally that is what I booked online” and it was all downhill from there. They charge for everything. The upsold me on gel, then they said it cost extra for the two new extensions I needed, then design cost was per finger and then they and then they said they didn’t have time to do my design. It was the most I’ve ever paid for my nails and it was hardly extravagant.

Then, less than two weeks later the two new extensions she did came off. I had to tape them on. I’ve never had them come off in less than a week. They redid the two nails literally one week after I got them and now they’re just super thick. Two more were loose at the time as well but I could not be asked to sit there longer.

Less than two weeks later three more lifted. I called the salon on a Monday, the owner was not there. I was told she would call me back when she was in on Wednesday. Shocker, she didn’t call. So now I have to write a review.

I’ve been coming to this salon for over 6 months straight and always tip extremely generously. I sent my sister and a minimum of 10 new customers to them. My usual artist wanted to come see my gallery, had each others cel #’s, very friendly terms. At my last appointment she did wrong color combo after I told her numerous times and even asked during appointment and she assured me she got it. In the end it was wrong but I said I don’t have time to re-do please just give me discount for next appointment and tipped extra once again, mistakes happen. Fast forward to trying to make an appointment this week, couldn’t get through, couldn’t book online, messaged on Instagram, was actually worried. Then realize I’m blocked from their Instagram and phone numbers! Business and personal, whyyyyy? I stopped by today to see if everything was ok and nothing had happened to business. I had a really bad experience here. 1. They cut my finger when polishing my nail, that’s really unprofessional, and I have done nail manicure few year this is my first time to be cut by nail salon, it is so painful when they put the gel on later and I am also concern about their tools cleanliness. They gave me a bandage afterwards They keep saying that they are busy and have other appointment approaching so force me to make decision in a very short time, and the staff is unhappy when I wanna change a little bit my design( that’s only cost 10 more seconds!)
