What a splendid little shop over here in New York! I was just around the corner visiting a dear childhood friend of mine at the Italian Consulate when my driver informed me that he would collect me on Madison as Park Avenue had experienced a vehicle and pedestrian collision. "How thoughtful of you Humphrey," I complimented as I walked around the corner.
Yes, I am not above walking about in the out of doors. All too often, members of the aristocracy forget how to walk with the regular people of society. I, personally, enjoy the momentary company of these dear denizens. I also enjoy them chatting into their common mobile phones, of which one, are similar to my diamond studded Vertu.
As I approached Humphrey and my not so comfortable E-Class (just for the Colonies) I noticed this lovely little shop.
I could not pass by a Valentino without wandering inside. I was immediately greeted by a lovely and well put together shop girl by the name of Alanna. Despite how well put together she was, Alanna appeared to be Eastern European; Poland or Romania perhaps. Something with sad little potato faces. Alas, the Colonies have been good to her.
I was in need of some lovely daily clothings and stockings that I could discard at the end of my trip to the Colonies. Alanna was delighted to assist and remarkably selected items from the displays as well as in deep storage that I loved.
I am glad I stumbled upon this little shop. The prices in America are shockingly cheap. In the end, I was able to leave the shop with five suits, a couple of lovely everyday shoes, a gorgeous Rockstud handbag and a couple of lovely stockings for only £16.000,00!!!
I strongly recommend this shop if you're in the area and are in need some of quick...
Read moreI made a online purchase of three handbags (Small Rockstud Grainy Calfskin Crossbody Bag, Small Valentino Garavani Escape Crossbody Bag and the Small Rockstud Grainy Handbag) the total cost of this purchase was $7,272.86. The hold was placed against my credit card for this purchase. Valentino sent me an email on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 requesting me to obtain a TRANSACTION AUTHORIZATION CODE what on earth is this and why am I being asked to get this code?????
I phoned Valentino's customer service department to find out what this unreasonable request is. I was told this is an additional safety measure that Valentino imposes. Feeling totally out of my comfort zone I phoned the credit card company and requested this TRANSACTION AUTHORIZATION CODE. I was told by my credit card company that this information cannot be given to the card holder which is me. I asked the customer service representative at the credit card company if I could three-way the call to Valentino, I was told yes. Once the call was made to Valentino the representative there said she did not know how to handle the request and I needed to speak with a supervisor regarding this matter. When I called back later and spoke with the supervisor he was a very condescending individual. I demanded that the hold of $7,272.86 be reversed at once because of this questionable treatment from Valentino. My credit card company did not consider this a fraudulent purchase.
I strongly believe that this was REDLINING (A FORM OF RACIAL DIVIDE) BECAUSE MY ZIP CODE IS 10039 WHICH IS STILL PREDOMINANTLY AFRICAN AMERICAN.
I have been shopping luxury brands for 57 years questioning my ability to pay is...
Read moreToday I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Valentino store on Madison Avenue. Last month, while on vacation, I purchased a pair of $800 sunglasses from their Bellagio location. Fast forward to today: I finally went to wear them, only to discover they were defective, stretched out and totally unwearable. Apparently, I received a different pair than the one I tried on.
I thought it would be a simple fix to swing by the Madison Avenue store (I live in NYC) for an exchange. What I encountered instead was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The guy I dealt with was not only unhelpful but downright rude. After making me wait 20 minutes, he told me there was nothing he could do, even though the sunglasses were defective. I didn’t want a refund—just an exchange for the same pair that wasn’t stretched out. I walked out feeling frustrated, with my defective $800 sunglasses.
His only suggestion was to talk to the sales rep in Vegas because maybe they would be more willing to help. I tried to explain that I live in New York and don’t have a relationship with the Vegas store, but he just rolled his eyes and said I should have developed one.
I’ve shopped at Saint Laurent, Fendi, Chanel, etc., and I can confidently say that Valentino is a complete joke when it comes to customer service and the quality of their products. This was my first experience with the designer, and honestly, I've had better service at Duane Reade in Times Square. After this encounter, I have no intention of ever purchasing anything from Valentino again or stepping foot in another...
