Thomas Jefferson University — Local services in Philadelphia

On June 29, 2019 I was taken to Jennersville Hospitol with symptoms similar to a stroke. At that time I thought this was the worst of the worst hospitols in the country. I was airlifted to an Jefferson. They immediatly assumed that I had a stroke and was to come back next week. At home my condition worsened. I returned to Jennersville and told to continue with aspirins. By this time I was unable to walk. It took a physical therapist that came to my house to see that something didnt add up. Long story short...I was taken by ambulance back to Jefferson and had brain surgery for an infection that had grown 5 times the size of what they thought was a bleed from a stroke. Had they not jumped to conclusions the first time and treated the infection my life would be a whole lot different today. The right side of my body is half numb. Also, the nurses at Jefferson are with a few exceptions...

Jefferson hospital is horrible, the treatment from nurses, doctors everyone was horrible. They do not care about the patient or family members, all they care about is the money. My husband got a bed sore and they do not turn you or do there jobs. My husband has a broken call bell and they never got him a new one. The nurses, doctors everyone was always on there phones instead of doing there jobs which is taking care of the patients. All the doctors want to do is give you pain meds and move on. If you r really sick they don’t want you because they will have to actually work. The sad part is these doctors and nurses get paid so much and want to do so little. But guess what one day one of there loved ones will Be in the hospital and I hope they get the same treatment my husband received which was horrible then they will realize that compassion and care goes a long way which this...

I would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses that caring for my mother in the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit and the whole team. There isn't enough words to tell you how grateful and humble I am. You save my mother. Yes, she may have a long road ahead of her but you gave her back to me and my family.
