One word to describe Phoenix Union Station: Historical.
Although Amtrak's Sunset Limited hasn't arrived into Phoenix in nearly 25 years, there is potential to see it make a return in the future once again to this truly beloved station in the desert. This historic railroad depot, located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, is known for it's unique Southern Pacific Mission Revival design, and is by far one of the most unique depots out here in the American Southwest.
I highly recommend you stop by here to see this truly historic depot while you're here in the Phoenix area someday. This place is so run down, has no air conditioning, and looks like it hasn't had any upkeep since the 20's. They take vintage to a whole new level with what I can only imagine to be original walls, ceilings and building conditions. If someone put some time and money into this historic place it could be really neat, but in its current state I am embarrassed for Phoenix Union...
