I couldn't be more disappointed, not so much with the Airbnb home as with Sara and Bryan's customer experience.
The property listing shows well in photos, but there are some inaccuracies with the listing that you realize once you're there. The pool, which was a selling feature, was such a small size it could only be compared to a wading pool. It was listed with views of the mountains and desert. That was inaccurate as well. If I looked through the neighbour's yard around their house, we could see some of it. The check-in at 4 PM and checkout at 10 AM were odd but were in the listing. We asked for access earlier, and if we received a response, it was usually short and not accommodating. The home was okay for an older bungalow with some improvements; however, the pungent smell of cleaners was present when we entered. Overall, this was not the quality you'd expect for the price. We've stayed at several Airbnb and VRBO properties, and this home, in our opinion, is worth half the price as listed.
Regardless, we checked in but followed up with Airbnb with our concerns, hoping we could cancel the last night and move to another listing. That wasn't possible. We stayed and enjoyed our time in Sedona.
We checked out an hour early and let them know while leaving the home spotless and even started washing the bedding and taking out the trash. Unfortunately, a glass broke in the dishwasher, and we informed them of that. I guess that qualified as "damaging the property." Shortly after my partner and I left, he completed a positive 4-star review without other criticisms. But, apparently, our call to Airbnb angered Sara and Bryan. The review they left us was not complimentary and void of facts (see the photos provided).
We followed up with Sara and asked that the review be removed since it misrepresents the truth, but to no avail. So, we're left with limited options, with Airbnb being one.
As you can see from the other reviews here, when Sara doesn't receive a 5-star review, she immediately attacks the person's character (See other reviews and decide), which I fully expect she’ll try here. I'll let mine and my partner's character stand since our reviews are impeccable 5-star reviews, and every other host would welcome us back.

It is not unusual to reach out to Airbnb in order to clarify our rights as a tenant. Devoid of any alternatives, we had made the decision to remain and express our concerns after leaving. Claiming that anything beyond a shattered IKEA glass that fractured in the dishwasher is a blatant lie and defaming. Read moreI’ve been meaning to write this review for over a year. Worst (and the only negative) Airbnb host I’ve EVER experienced after a decade on the platform. Long story short, Sara wrote a fake review of me after I stayed at one of her Sedona Airbnb homes. The AC didn’t work in the Airbnb in the middle of July (it was over 100 degrees). I asked Airbnb for a refund, and Airbnb notified Sara of this, which set her off. She wrote a fake review saying I was dishonest, and disrespected her property. She was anticipating a bad review from me (which I didn’t even write, because I understand things happen), so she got ahead of me and decided to lie about me “disrespecting” the property. I’m not able to remove this fake review from my account. If you search by the other low rated reviews Sara has on Google, you will see that a handful of other people have had the exact same experience, and I recommend you ask for a transcript of the degrading, terrible way she talks to her guests. When she gets wind of a negative review or concern she will lash out, what’s worse is she will lash out and make blatant lies to defend her reputation. I’ve never seen or dealt with a person who can just so openly lie without concern to defend themselves. This is very evident in her Google and Airbnb reviews. Scroll down for more people she goes after when they have criticism. Without a doubt the worst experience out of my 10 Airbnb rentals. Till that point they had all been wonderful. I’m not even going to go off on a lengthy diatribe because it’s not even worth it. People who are shady in business usually have to deal with some karma eventually. Kudos to those who have a great experience. Just be careful. God forbid an ikea glass breaks in the dishwasher or you express any feelings about her properties that aren’t glowing. She will then accuse you of destroying her property even though “at the time” it was no problem and “thanks for letting her know”.
