I would describe my overall experience here as pretty good especially in comparison to where I stayed last season. Starting with the basics, they had housekeeping come every day and didnāt use the covid excuse that some resorts are still hiding behind which I admire. I do like the shuttle service around town; the drivers were always accommodating and even made some suggestions on where to eat. I like that this is right on the mountain and makes skiing quite convenient. The room pretty much had everything I would want in terms of making it a comfortable stay. There were a few faults which are not the end of the world, but are important when a customer is considering coming back. To start, they gave us the wrong code for the room so that caused some cold frustration; that said, it was fixed within the next 10 minutes. Also, I was told that there are some new young staff here and I can totally see it. When calling the shuttle service, one of the young ladies kept telling us to go to the treehouse for pickup which was not where we were. She tried to tell us that it was an approved location, even though we gave a detailed description of where we are. On a personal note, I would have been fine walking back to the room but my peers wanted the ride. After multiple calls and some irritation, the driver finds us and then proceeds to say that the location we were at is an approved pick up spot and that he had no idea what the deal was with these new rules. The driver reassured us he would pick us up in town where we needed to go, but the lady at the front made it a bit irritating. Thirdly, and this is just weird but we wanted to borrow scissors since ours were displaced. Apparently my father was told that we can borrow scissors so I went to the front to claim them. The lady in front said she tried calling us and explained they have no scissors for us to use. I literally saw with my own two eyes scissors on the table, but was polite and went back to the room. My dad called the boss lady Dana who said to tell the front that she said it is okay to borrow the scissors. Really? We had to get the boss involved over something that minute? I walked back and said Dana said we can borrow them and what do you know! She handed them over. I felt like I was some kid in school saying a teacher gave me permission I can do this. Let us use the scissors lol. That was just so weird it seems some of the young staff are trying to give as little as possible. I know they are just scissors but that was just a waste of time. I canāt help but assume people see someone like me and think oh its easy to say no. If my father went to get the scissors instead of me who is obviously quite older, I donāt think it would have taken two trips to the front. After a day of skiing I donāt feel like calling the boss over that. Word of advice is to tell some of those new young workers to either be more accommodating, or I guess review the rules better because we were told that the pickup nonsense was just made up. They were happy to pick us up where needed and we did not need to find some treehouse. Drivers did great, the people connecting us to the drivers not so much. If these are in fact the rules about picking up at some treehouse, I suggest changing them. With some of those hiccups, Timberline did offer the standard vacation experience that I canāt say is that common anymore. Good on not using covid as an excuse not to work and the room was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited the Edge restaurant at the Timberline in March. While the food was lovely and the serving staff were wonderful. We had a horrible experience while trying to leave.
I am currently expecting, and we were eating with my elderly in-laws and my infant daughter. The snow started coming down very badly, so my husband pulled the car up to the pick-up/drop-off zone in order to let his frail parents get into the car more easily, and so I could keep my baby out of the snow as long as possible. My family was waiting by the door for the car, so there was no "parking" on my husband's part. He literally pulled up and we began loading.
As I was strapping in my daughter, I heard a man begin screaming at my husband. I figured out he was the shuttle driver, and was mad that he couldn't drive straight up to the door, even though there was plenty of space behind us to wait. After my husband told him we would leave as soon as we could, given his elderly parents and my pregnant state, the driver proceeded to BLOCK US in what I can only describe as a temper tantrum.
Despite how wonderful the meal was, we will never return to the Timberline to dine or stay because of this experience. My husband called to complain to the onsite manager. He was told someone would call him back, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Timberline Condominiums for our much deserved honeymoon during the beginning of November this year. We were already super excited, before we landed, as we saw the Rocky's and were completely blown away. Those mountains looked too good to true, but that was where we were headed! We flew in from Raleigh and arrived to Aspen- Pitkin airport around noon! We got into our rental car and headed to lunch then Timberline for early check-in. To our luck for our honeymoon, we found out that we were the only guests in the entirety of the condominium! We were aware it was off season, that is why we traveled to Aspen! When we got there, our front desk attendant was Dana who was super friendly and helpful; very easy check-in! Our condo was pristine, very pretty, and cozy. Everything was well appointed and the bed was so comforting after all the food (er, hiking?). The housekeeping staff was amazing. They did not speak much english, but to their credit they used a translator if there were any questions or concerns. One of the best included services that the housekeepers provided was their kitchen cleaning. As the main cook at home, this was just the icing on the cake! We had an absolute amazing time and will always have core memories of our...
