I rarely go from a 1-star to a 5-star review, but when the owner of a business goes above and beyond to make sure their customer is satisfied, it deserves recognition.
After my initial experience, I wanted to update this review to highlight Rick, the owner of Plato’s Closet. Rick personally reached out and took the time to resolve the issue. He was incredibly helpful, professional, and handled the situation with a great deal of integrity.
His efforts made all the difference and showed that he genuinely values his customers and their experiences. While my first visit was disappointing, Rick’s dedication to making things right completely turned things around. Thank you, Rick, for your exceptional service and commitment to customer satisfaction!

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Plato’s Closet. I brought in approximately $500 worth of clothes, along with a $70 storage bin, only to find out that my items were donated without my consent. The lack of accountability was shocking – there was no text confirmation when my items were supposedly processed, and they had no record of my belongings.
When I tried to address the issue, the manager was rude and dismissive, and every interaction I had with the staff made me feel uncomfortable and unvalued as a customer. Initially, I was going to hold back on writing this review, but after seeing other reviews and how the store replies in a very unprofessional manner, refusing to take accountability, I felt compelled to share my experience.
It’s clear they cannot own their mistakes and have no regard for basic customer service. I don’t understand how this location operates given the way they treat customers. I would strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this store with...

The store itself is decent, and every now and then you can find something worth buying. However, the customer service is consistently poor. I often get the impression that the staff aren’t interested in helping certain customers—particularly those who don’t seem to fit their preferred aesthetic. It’s unwelcoming and frustrating.
I’ve stopped trying to sell clothes here altogether. Despite bringing in high-quality items—like Coach bags and name-brand clothing in excellent condition, some even with tags still attached—my items are repeatedly rejected without explanation. Meanwhile, I regularly see clothing from Walmart and Target on the racks, which makes the whole process feel inconsistent and unfair.
If the local Goodwill were better, I’d gladly shop there instead. Unfortunately, this Plato’s Closet feels more exclusionary than it should be, and the lack of transparency around what they accept is...
Read moreI purchased a bag on Saturday, July 20th when I came home. I was about to take the tag off underneath where the bag connects to the strap. It was about to come off completely. I went the next day. Tried to return it or get my money back the manager/owner of the store came out and told me that they came out with new policies that they will not longer return, exchange, or refund your money for bags or shoes. This information is not posted anywhere on their receipt or anywhere in the store. I would appreciate it if they were more clear and more professional about their policies and at least put it someplace where customers can be aware that they risk buying something that is falling apart only to notice it by the time they get home and basically be robbed of...
