El Fenix — Restaurant in Weatherford

Disappointed!! Won't be back because of the food and drinks. The customer service was excellent!! I ordered my regular, like I get at the El Fenix on Camp Bowie in Ft Worth. I have to be honest. It has been awhile since I have been there though, maybe a year or close to it. So if recipes have changed there since I have been there then I'm not aware of it. My large pina colada came and I was so disappointed just looking at it!! It was in a clear soda glass (12-16oz size) with no garnish at all!! They just layed a straw on the table!! I could see chunks of ice in it!! This was a $12 drink!! I tried to drink it and it wouldn't come through the straw because ice got stuck in it. The drink wasn't sweet and didn't taste like a pina colada!! I told my waitress and she got her supervisor who was very nice and quickly made me another one using the right rum and added garnish. It was still in the small glass and had ice chunks in it. I took the straw out and drank it anyway because the staff was so nice!! When I get this drink at the Ft Worth Camp Bowie El Fenix it is served in a large frozen stem mug with pineapple and cherry garnish. It is so smooth that it is nearly creamy. We ordered a enchilada dinners with a variety of enchiladas. Everything was delicious except the chili on the enchiladas. It was so strong that it made my date sick for 2 days. I would of been but I only had one with chili. It was not the same recipe that I have eaten in the past at other El Fenix Restaurant's. This one was thicker and had stronger seasonings. I'm sorry but we definitely won't be back to the Weatherford El Fenix and we will not refer anyone there. The service staff and management were great though!! Well since the virus is going on there's a lot of people that are starting different jobs because their job no longer was there for him when things kind of resumed so the only reason why I said okay was because I had placed an order picked it up got to the house and the order was wrong then I wouldn't call the lady was very nice the manager said come back and she would refix my whole entire order so I went back and she fixed my whole entire order and I assumed everything was good I get back to where I was at and I went to cut open my chili relleno and there was no cheese in it so I had to place a call again which it was a little embarrassing and I talked to the manager and she said that she was so sorry that you would need a refund me or whatever I would like it she didn't know that it wasn't correct she told him to put the cheese in it and I guess it was a new cook and I was right it was a new cook training and so everybody's got to learn everybody makes mistakes so you know I hate it happened to me three times in one day at the same place but the manager was very nice and took care of it for me so I thought I hope I don't have to see her for a little bit but anyway all joking aside everybody's got to learn you know and we all do make mistakes but they made it right so...

Came in last night to eat alone. Unfortunately my husband has been deported real recently so I joined one of our favorite spots alone. My server Cheyenne was amazing she had a big group she was handling while taking care of me . However there was another group of people coming in with a bunch of loud kids and their mom obnoxiously told them walking in they were allowed to be as rude , disrespectful and loud and messy as they want to the mexican servers because theyre at a mexican restaurant. It disgusts me people come in entitled to Mexican restaurants and get what they want by their white power to hurt others. Then I heard her yell that she wanted a new server because she didnt like her for accidently mis hearing her order. Thankfully whoever that lady was was better than me and smiled and walked off and continued to help around the restaurant. If I werent older I wouldve done something because alls that lady wanted was free stuff with problems shes intended to cause. So I pray yall dont do that server wrong for someone who would deport or do our people dirty in a heart beat. Racism and entitlement was the problem. Praying for that girl and her job .
