Otani Hibachi and Sushi — Restaurant in Weatherford

This is still a good sushi location. Unfortunately, the quality and presentation of the rolls seems to vary dramatically depending on the chef. They appear to have significant turnover, so you are always rolling the dice.

New location is much better than previous, although not sure why they did not include a bar in the facility.

Original review 2018: Hidden gem in Weatherford. Friendly staff, not outrageous prices. The sushi bar is the best I have tried in the metroplex. The nigiri and sashimi are very fresh, and not overly tricked-out with wasabi or other overwhelming ingredients. The rolls are outstanding. Everything I have tried off of the chef special menu was fantastic. My wife's and my new favorite Weatherford restaurant.

One note - make sure Dan (sp?) is the sushi chef. I always call before I go. We have gone a couple times when he was not working, and while the rolls were still good, the presentation and overall mix of ingredients was not the same.

I am always amazed that this restaurant is not much busier than it is. I can only think it is due to an inconspicuous location. I did not even know this place existed until some friends mentioned...

VIBE

The place felt very warm and inviting. The intimate indoor setting matches the low noise level. Multiple seating arrangements make the place ideal for a date, a family dinner, or a group of friends. The decor has a few statues and pictures in every eating area.

THE FOOD

Filet Mignon - tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned -presentation was astounding!

Scallops - succulent, savory, and full of flavor

Shrimp - seared to perfection on a hibachi grill

Fried Rice - delightful and yummy

SERVICE

All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our chef was "Uncle Sam," an energetic, professional, eager to please everyone's individual tastes.

Wait times were minimal for all items.

PRICE & VALUE: $$

We were amazed and impressed by the very low cost and very high value for our food. We ate Filet Mignon, scallops, fried rice, and shrimp, for less than the cost of two hamburgers.

Otani Hibachi Sushi is definitely one of my favorite restaurants! My family and I have visited twice in the past week and a half, and each experience has been fantastic. We always opt for the Hibachi, where the chef comes out to cook the food in front of you on their grill.

I always order the filet mignon with chicken and shrimp, along with fried rice. The fried rice, filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp always taste perfect. The flavors are consistently delicious and cooked to perfection every time.

Beyond the wonderful food, all the chefs I've encountered have been incredibly friendly. They add an extra touch of enjoyment by putting on a little show while preparing the food, making the dining experience fun and engaging for everyone.

I highly recommend Otani Hibachi Sushi for its excellent food and entertaining chefs. It's a place where great meals and memorable moments...
