This place used to be called Sura about 2-3 years ago and the food was amazing, however I came here for the first time since then this week and the quality of the food has significantly declined since the change of owners. The sign on the outside of the restaurant is now Papa's something.
I ordered the B set which came with assorted cuts of pork, lettuce, sides, dipping sauce, rice and kimchi stew for $69.95. For some reason it took 30 mins to give us literally RAW INGREDIENTS?? Looked into the kitchen to see the chef vaping while cooking which could be considered a food and health safety issue. What came was 4-5 pieces of lettuce, 2 different cuts of meat with 1/4 of the plate filled with vegetables and a kimchi stew that was horrendous by far the worst kimchi stew i've ever had its like they mixed gochujang and water and called it a stew. I had to ask for the dipping sauces as if it wasn't already going to be brought out. And on the side about all the workers were gathered around one table eating fried chicken instead of serving customers.
Overall I would never come here again take your business elsewhere this place is not worth it. If i could give this place 0...
Read moreWe came here the other night, a group of 8. We had a booking. The older gentleman serving threw down a receipt and muttered something about ordering on your phone and walked off. We started putting our order through, half the table was still deciding so the other half already put their order in. The gentleman came over and started aggressively telling us we had to order more meat or he would cancel our order. He kep repeating it getting more rude and aggressive. We were a bit shocked but complied. The food came out in a very bizarre order. My husband getting his rice 20 minutes before his food arrived. None of the servers knew what any of the dishes were, and just put them at the end of the table and hurried away. It made it very confusing to know which was what I’m a group of 8 people. The same server that was rude earlier put down soup and also had no idea what it was. They seemed understaffed and I totally understand that, but there was no reason to be rude. Food was okay,...
Read moreWe had a family dinner there in Sura, last night. We ordered bulgogi soup - full of onions, a tiny amount of meat, no enoki mushroom or other typical ingredients, jjamppong seafood noodle - the soup tasted very bland and less salty, again full of onions (I wonder why the chef uses onions a lot for every dish), jjangmeyung black bean paste noodle - this was much better comparing to the others. The taste and the texture of the noodles were good, but the portion was small. Teokbokki spicy rice cake - The taste was good, but again, full of onions and cabbage, you won't find the rice cake slices more than 8 pieces in it. We requested additional cheese topping for $5, which was just a spoonful of cheese on top. We had them all besides all the huge cuts of onions, because we were all starving and prepared to eat their food. For anyone planning to eat there, do not expect high. This place will not give you any satisfaction with either...
