Asaka Sushi is a worth visiting Japanese restaurant for anyone who loves Sushi, Bento box, Don, Ramen, and Udon. Located near St. George Terrace right in the heart of Perth CBD, this little restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that will make you feel at home. I had the opportunity to try their salmon bento box for dinner, and it was simply amazing. The salmon was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. The sauce for the salmon is awesome. The bento box also complemented with two pieces of orange. The drawback is that the bento box does not come together with miso soup else it will be perfect. The presentation of the bento box as seen in the photos was also impressive and made the meal even more enjoyable. However, the Teriyaki Beef box is average as the meat is a bit tough. We ordered a pot of tea as it is surprising good. It has a bit of mint flavour that complement the main meals. The customer service at Asaka Sushi was excellent, with the counter lady being friendly and attentive to customers' needs. The prices were reasonable for a Japanese restaurant located in the city. The restaurant is a bit small as well as the tables and chairs. However, the ambient is cosy and comfortable. I am satisfied with the Salmon Bento Box and might try the sushi, ramen or udon in my next visit. Overall, I highly recommend Asaka Sushi for anyone looking for a great Japanese dining experience in Perth.

A friend and I both ordered the chicken katsudon today for lunch. I was satisfied to finally get a good katsudon, as I had been craving one for a while! The portion was generous, compared to other places I've been to that charge the same. By that I mean, decent amount of protein as well as rice, and not just lots of rice. Meals were $15ea including soup. The egg also wasn't overcooked and dry as some other places serve it. The rice was tasty too! The time taken to get the meal from the time we ordered was also very reasonable, especially considering that it was peak lunch time and there were both people queueing to order and people who had just ordered and were waiting outside for their food. Tables inside were probably at 90% capacity. I'd come back for sure. Keen to try all the other things on the menu now! p.s., I also love they sell pieces of katsu and other fried goods! Ever felt like being a bit cheeky, but not ordering a whole bowl of chicken karaage? (Yep!! You know it!)

I’m always in the hunt of small eatery that serves yummy food. And I’m so glad to be able to find this place. Friday evening was very quiet and we were greeting beautiful by the lady. My children were so hungry they couldn’t wait anymore so we grabbed the ready made sushi from the fridge. Unable to give review for the sushi as they finished everything and just said “good”. We ordered a pork belly rice which is not a common dish on the Japanese cuisine menu but it is quite good. Myself ordered a karaage bento, which I love. The chicken was cooked to perfection with the crunch on the outside and so juicy on the inside. Interestingly my bento was served with a slice of orange. Sashimi is also great but I do have a little pick on the wasabi where sashimi will be perfect with better quality wasabi. My big concern is the sticky tables. I’m sure the hygiene can be improved. We were not comfortable leaning our arm on the table as it was sticky. Overall food was great.

Front desk staff had the worst attitude. As a regular customer, I was shocked when the lady with short hair asked me to step aside for a white man behind me while I was about to order. I felt disrespected and won't be returning.

Since I can’t reply to owner ( editing here) Before we could even say a word the staff asked us to step aside. Yes, we did let other customer go first. How could we not step aside and let other customer go first after being humiliating us?.Do you still want us to stand there like an idiot and order the food even after being disrespected and humiliated? Of course we can't denied the fact that our love for your food but we are not stupid enough to spend money on food where we were being disrespected and humiliated. If humiliation and disrespect is not called rude than I don't know what is it. Being disrespectful infront of other customers may not be a big deal for you but it is for us! And also stop putting false accusations on us.. we have never waited or seated outside of your restaurant or did we ever purchased just snacks. We have visited like more than 7 times and we always order food and dine inside. Just because you want to look good, you can’t blame us for no reason.. and yeah, I have no interested to know what’s happening in Nepal. No wonder from where the staff got...

Did the owner changed or the chef's changed? The menu and the look of the restaurant is still the same but everything just gone downhill, services is ok though... First the food quality has gone down and cooking style is different as well. The food presentation is not as appealing as it used to be too. And then there's the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. It used to be so clean and very pleasant to be there. Now it's smelly, table and seats sticky, and the decor just feels off, rather than neat and comfy. It used to be my favourite Japanese restaurant because they served amazing home cooked style dishes (and tasted like authentic Japanese home cooked and you can really tell they put effort into everything they do), with very reasonable price. But now, it's just a regular Japanese restaurant with reasonable price, just another option of Japanese food, rather some where I would crave going back every day, which I pretty much did before I went on maternity leave a few years ago. I am really disappointed with the changes... I am more than happy to pay more for the meals if you can bring back...
