We have been to the Margaret River Chocolate shop multiple times, we have always enjoyed our visits. Unfortunately I can't say the same for my visit on the afternoon of 24th Dec 2022 . There was a gentleman giving our chocolate samples to people around us but he went passed my sister and I without acknowledging us nor given us any eye contact. We are of asian appearance and his action did make me wonder if the different customer service or lack thereof was attributed to my asian appearance.

We took this up with the ladies behind the counter and were told that those were chocolates included with the tour packages they paid for. Fair enough. I can accept that. However, I wish the personel could acknowledge their customers standing in front of them with a nod or smile instead of starring past us. Maybe the person is busy but it channels anything but hospitality.

Great City outlet for Margaret River Chocolate Company in the heart of Perth's CBD. It is a sizeable store, with chocolates in the front and the Providores store at the rear of the space. Pricing is a little high for what you get, but the delicious taste more than helps you forget how much you have paid. There are also free chocolate tasting available so you can try before you buy. One of the more off-the-wall items on sale was their chocolate/mint/white chocolate massage oils - for those times when regular massage oil just won't cut it. Their bundled items were quite nice, we got a large size KeepCup with hot chocolate pastilles as a permanent reminder of our time in Perth, even after we have enjoyed our last hot chocolate.
