The Gramercy has a clear and visible happy hour sign on which states spirits. I went to the bar and asked if happy hour was on. The reply was yes so I ordered my house spirits to find the bill was charged at full price. I went back to the bar and the supervisor (English guy) on day stated that spirits are not on happy hour for today. I went back to check the sign for the happy hour sign for spirits which it did have. I tried to question the supervisor behind the bar and he dodged me. I cornered him out on the tables and questioned the fact that the sign states spirits are included. His claim is that the management have elected to change the happy hour drinks from week to week but it's too hard to change the sign on the blackboard behind the bar which is how it's been done for many years but now they have a printed sign. Clearly the Gramercy have very little training in hospitality as the supervisor on the day could have diffused a situation very easily. Instead, he's stuck into us and argued with us that no one else complains, but I would argue that no one else really checks their bills as they probably should. They trust the bar to provide the drinks as per the pricing on the wall. So in effect they are misrepresenting or being dishonest to their customers for profit and deception. we were all shocked at the attitude by the supervisor. I understand that it's hard getting staff now, but if you're going to put somebody in a supervisor position they should have the very basic hospitality training. Rest assured we will be telling everybody in Central Park and thats the last time I step into that bar again. We will not be coming again. This bar has changed names many times in the time I've lived and worked here and clearly it seems like they're due for another change....

Food & Drink
The menu is a mix of classic pub fare and modern Australian dishes. The bar is a strong point, with a reputation for a solid wine list, local craft beers on tap, and a range of "classy cocktails." For food, the experience can be a bit mixed, although it's worth noting that the food comes out fast, which is a big plus if you're on a tight schedule. Some reviews praise certain dishes for being delicious and well-prepared, while others express disappointment, particularly with the quality of some meat dishes. If you're going for a meal, it's a good idea to check out the current menu online beforehand.
Service
Service can be a point of inconsistency. While many patrons have praised the staff for being friendly and helpful, some have reported issues with professionalism during busy periods. It's generally well-regarded as a place with a decent, casual service style, but not necessarily a top-tier fine dining experience.
Overall Verdict
Gramercy Bar & Kitchen is a solid choice for a casual, comfortable, and well-located bar in the Perth CBD. Its strengths lie in its great atmosphere, excellent drinks menu, and prime location. It’s perfect for a social gathering with friends or colleagues where the vibe is as important as the food. While the food can be hit-or-miss, the overall experience is a reliable choice for a...
Read moreFor food, the steak sandwich mustard aioli wrecked the sandwich.
The seeded mustard was good but the entire sandwich was drowned in overpowering way-too-pungent hot english mustard (or some similarly powerful hot mustard).
I generally love all mustard: seeded, dijon, american, or a thin spread of hot english. So I'm not a mustard hater. However, this was way out of balance and, without me prompting him, my friend complained about the mustard also.
We have both agreed that Grammercy steak sandwich is now blacklisted from our pub rotation.
The mustard really ruined what was otherwise a nice sandwich.
Additionally my steak had a lot of fat and gristle, and for $32 I would also expect all gristle bits to be fully removed from the steak when it is trimmed (a short way up the road I can get a no gristle steak sandwich for $24).
The steak was nicely cooked medium though and was tasty once I scraped the mustard off it. The sandwich would have been 4 stars if not for the mustard and 5 stars if zero gristle.
Prices for the Coopers beer was good.
For service, 1 out of 4 staff members was friendly so I'll give a 3/5.
For atmosphere, it was really nice and full marks for that.
EDIT: The reply from Gramercy is wrong and quite condescending to think I can't tell the difference between mustard and cheese. I was NOT talking about gorgonzola cheese, I was talking about the mustard. Whoever made it put way too much mustard in it and it was disgusting. My friend complained about the exact same thing without me...
