My place is not your place unless you are into mediocre service . You have to be running some sort of scam to be accepted. This is very real for a lot of the women who go there . If the Madam is not face of the night , you will be out , if not, at least speak pidgin. Im kidding that will not help you. We came here at night and automatically had the judgey eyes from the wife . She was spread out in her usual chair . We were the only ones actually paying for a drink and when we questioned , oh well we were kicked out , no refund, once again , as usual , whole bottle of wine on the table because how dare we be shocked that they are not playing afro beats but an equivalent of what I would play at my house when I have my village mates visiting . I am all for family run business but my place is NOT an african cuisine business . It is a place where this dudes wife's friends can meet african men without facing competition or maybe if you want to deal bangi with kush on the side and an overbearing mama yes , but african , nah , that's gone ... and no ... it can't be rescued . You are better off picking cttn because madam craves authority that bad, dude conforms too because of I don't know what . If you really want african food , go to Liba in thornlie or the Ethiopian restaurant in Mirrabooka . You will not get an african vibe here at all unless you want rice and potato bake then yes 😋. The plain rice was so good 😁 The atmosphere was so good too , reminded me of the 20s mid west 😅. In short , just don't go here ....
Read moreCustomer service Walked in to the restaurant and there was no one to greet us or tell us the ordering process. We had a seat and eventually went to get a menu from the bar because no one came. We then eventually went to stand at the bar to order our meals. We could see a few people working in the kitchen, the service was not warm or inviting unfortunately. The food After ordering it took an hour for my meal to come, I waited 15 min and two of our meals still had not come, we were at this point told they were cooking the rice. The meals came another 15 min later. So it was quite disappointing not to eat together at the same time. The meals came I ordered the goat was fantastic, however the pepper soup and borewors were not the best we have had and not worth the price tag. I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately based on this experience but hopefully the establishment uses this positive feedback to level up because the concept is great but not staff are required if meals are taking over an hour and there is no friendly staff available to welcome guests and explain the...
Read moreMonday night dinner at @myplacebarperth on Pier Street ....The menu is diverse, from hamburgers to pizza to African dishes. I ordered the Chicken Maryland (which I’ve been dying to try) and my son ordered the fried goat meat ... and neither of us was disappointed in our choices 😁😁 the portions are generous, it’s well presented , and delicious. Both he and I commented on how similar the food tasted to Timorese food! It’s simple food, done very well. They don’t skimp on the flavour that’s for sure!
Great cocktail menu, quiet a number of beers on tap ... wish I had room in my belly to try a second cocktail but there’s always next time 😁
Convenient location for place to have lunch if you’re spending a day shopping in town. Loads of parking garages around it and short walk to Hay Street Mall.
