This place doesn't even show up on TripAdvisor, and that might be because it asked to be removed! We had been touring a week and wanted a brief break from Turkish and Austrian cuisine, so we went for the American taste of good-ole' Chinese food about a block from Stephensplatz. This place disappointed in every way and should be avoided by American tourists and anyone else who wants good Chinese (or what we call Chinese) cuisine. The wonton soup was bland in both taste and texture, and the fish-corn soup was as bland as dishwater and lacked any creaminess or texture. The two dishes we had were not spicy and were bland and tasteless even though we asked for extra spicy. While it may be customary in parts of Vienna to charge for tap water, this place had the charge buried only in German in the middle of a translated menu so that even the owner couldn't find it at first, and, when it was found, it didn't look like a charge for tap water but, rather, like a premium bottled mineral water. But, they handed me a bill which included 9€ for refills of tap water plus the fairly common set-up charge of 2.5€ apiece! We got no set-up for the set-up charge, and we had no warning that we'd be charged for each refill of a 150 ml glass. When we complained, I was challenged to a shouting match with the owner, who explained that, unlike America, at least in Vienna, there is no charge for service. No charge for something I never received! Avoid this place, and its owner will soon return to serving in someone...

Staffs were friendly. Very pricey and nothing tasted like Chinese. I have eaten real finest Chinese food in 5star rated restaurants as well in normal Chinese restaurants where the quality of food is amazing and worth every cent always come out with satisfaction but the fried rice we had here absolutely not tasted Chinese, restaurants which serves fusion food have better tasting menu, very disappointed for the type of food served. Nothing tasted like real Chinese. Chinese tea we ordered not even had the aroma of jasmine tea. Someone had praised the cucumber, cabbage they serve as condiments here in the reviews but if you had a real experience of having them even in a proper standard restaurant that would have tasted amazing but here even after spending so much money came out without any satisfaction. Wouldn’t have minded if the quality of the food served was good even the quantity is less but both were not even worth mentioning, except for the ambience and the friendliness of the staffs nothing worth a visit to this restaurant and Went here after reading some of the reviews but very disappointed. In the menu booklet they have boasted about how the owner and others take pride in the food and the decorations which were from sixties except for maintaining the decorations as the same nothing worth mentioning here. Highly disappointing restaurant. Vegetarian options not much only two the waiters...

We were walking along Stephanplatz after visiting St Stephan cathedral and decided to try this Shanghai Restaurant. Good choice after several days of Austrian food.

The 3 pickles they served with prawn crackers were wonderful to our liking especially the pickled cucumber and cabbage. Their fried rice with vegetables lack wok hey.

We would recommend their hot and sour soup and a must try their lemon chicken with beansprouts. The jiaozi was excellent. The tofu dalian was ok. It would have been better if they swapped the seaweed with spinach. All in all, a great chinese restaurant if you crave chinese food in Vienna.

Finally as dessert we had the 3 flavors tangyuan. Very unexpected rendition of the traditional tangyuan with ginger soup. The filling for all is sesame but each is coated with hazelnut, black sesame and coconut flavor. Nice, delicious...
