We just stopped by at 6:30pm cuz we thought it closed at 7pm but to our surprise and disappointment, he grumpily mumbled he's not making anymore food and shoo'd us away. He didn't even ask what I wanted to order cuz I only wanted a beef yakisoba. It was a little rude. We're visiting from out of town but will try again tmr before leaving Harrison. Update: We went back the next morning around 11:20am and ordered 3 dishes. DO NOT get the spicy ramen and expect traditional broth made from scratch with sliced pork etc cuz it was just instant ramen with some veggies and I think some swirled egg whites, not even the whole egg cuz there was no egg yolk. It is totally overpriced for instant ramen that I can make at home. We were SO disappointed in that dish, felt ripped off and wish he wld be more clear on the menu and write "instant ramen" as I've seen it at other restaurants. Other than that, our fish n chips was of course very good. We ordered 1 pc and was impressed that we got 2 nice size small pcs. The beef yakisoba was delish too. Service was terrible! Non existent! He doesn't even greet you or say a single word. No "thank you" afterwards. I asked what time does he close and he even hesitated and grumpily said 7....but he obviously closed at 6:30pm the night before. Now that I'm reading reviews of this place, some bad ones, I wld never give him my business again. So rude. Recommendation: Cockney Kings has the best fish n chips, even better...
Read moreAfter my recent visit to John's Fish and Chips in Harrison Hot Springs, I have to say that the food was truly exceptional. The flavors were absolutely delightful, evoking the essence of street food that always leaves you craving for more. Nevertheless, I couldn't help but notice a few areas that could benefit from some enhancements.
While the taste of the food was undeniably satisfying, the hygiene aspect left something to be desired. It was disappointing to witness a lack of proper hygiene practices, specifically the absence of gloves when handling the food. This raised concerns about potential contamination and had a noticeable impact on the overall dining experience.
On a brighter note, the prices at John's Fish and Chips were fair, offering great value for your money. It's always a pleasant surprise to discover a place that doesn't break the bank yet still delivers delectable dishes.
In conclusion, if you're in the mood for some delicious street food, John's Fish and Chips in Harrison Hot Springs is a delightful spot to satisfy your cravings. However, I strongly urge the establishment to prioritize hygiene by implementing practices such as using gloves to handle the food. With these improvements, there is no doubt that this place has the potential to become a top-notch destination for fish and chips...
Read moreI can't say enough about this place! We got takeout mid week in the shoulder season. Fish & chips, beef teriyaki, and some fries and nuggets for the kids. The fish was perfect. The fillets were large and the batter was thin and so crispy, not greasy at all. The salad that came with it was super fresh, and made to order (he was chopping the veg while the fish cooked). The beef teriyaki was some of the best I've ever had. Well marinated, and tender without being mushy. Very lean, no pieces of tendon or gristle like some places. Not too much sauce. Served with Korean purple rice and mixed veg. The rice was on point with just a bit of chew. Amazingly fast service, and super friendly. Even gave us some complimentary dishes to try. We will be eating here every time we're in town. We're just sad we found you on...
