There was good and not so good things about this restaurant. I'm also using the scale that we were in Niagara which I swear had the most expensive food prices I had seen.
PROS.. Cost vers other All You Can Eat in the area. 40 dollars Unquie concept and wide variety of smoked meat in a All You Can Eat resturant. Meat included (off the top of my head) baby back ribs, beef brisket, hot chicken sliders. Cheese burger slider, pork n slaw sliders, chicken tenders and pork belly. You pick which items you want them to bring to your table. You can request more. Potato bar Hot bar for sides Sliders were good Staff was friendly
CONS.. Meat was lacking a lot of sauce. Keep in mind BBQ sauce is VERY subjective depending where you were raised. I'm not knocking the flavor of sauce but the lack of sauce on ribs and brisket. The ribs had a little on top but brisket had very little. I make baby backs and likes them not falling off the bone but close. These were firm and you needed pull the meat off the bone with some force. The brisket had smokey flavor and thick bark but no sauce flavor. Also when they served the brisket on the platter they served it with huge amounts of fat. Brisket has fat but leave the 1 1/2 inches of fat in the kitchen not serve to guests. You might notice it in my photo. The corn and honey glazed carrots were very very firm. If I had not seen the sign that stated honey glaze I would have just thought they were quick cooked baby carrots. The pasta seemed dry or undercooked. BBQ baked beans again very firm. Maybe since they were hot bar items they undercooked them so they hold up on the bar over time. We ate there at 630ish.
My wife and I did not hate the place but for 40 dollars a person would have liked higher quality. As I posted earlier when you compare it with other restaurants in Niagara you got a good value for your 40 dollars. But would never pay that again. Maybe they had more sauces but we were never offered any or told how that works. Again sorry for the knock but maybe we caught it on a bad night. ...
Read moreGreat all you can eat BBQ restaurant with plenty of choice.
All meats, except for the chicken, are smoked, giving the meat that extra bit of taste. The brisket was the best - tender and smokey. Ribs are also good and the cook can use any of the sauces available at the counter for those wanting hotter or no sauce.
I didn't get the reason, but on the day we went - saturday of thanksgiving, some meats were missing. Not that we noticed in any of our many trips, filling up our plates.
Hot potato bar is nice. The potatoes are smallish, giving you a chance to dry different dressing. Some of the toppings could/should be hot, but are not. This isn't the end of the world, just a detai for the picker eater.
Plenty of other choices to round off our plates. Making it a good choice - except maybe if you happen to be a vegan. After all, it is a BBQ restaurant.
There was not a whole lot of choice for desserts. The three I tried were a sweet treat I liked ... on both servings.
We returned on the Monday for the all you can eat breakfast. Price did go up to 10$ and, yes, coffee, juice and such are priced PER cup ! Worse, the price of a coffee is nearly 3$ a cup ... Food is all you can eat. I don't drink coffee anyways.
Lots of choice for the morning breakfast. The usual cereals, bagels, ... and bacon and sausage. Nort forgetting scramble eggs and make your own waffles. Beans and potatoes a few ways. Etc.
Service and staff were great as well. Greating, seating, clearing table and goodbyes all were pleasant.
We were a group, so gratuities were added automatically (15%). There is extra "tourist" tax also added. Not all places do it. We didn't argue, but it adds something like 7%. We later heard we could ask to have it removed.
Overall, a great experience. We will return on futur trips to the region and also recommend to those who like BBQ (and...
Read moreWas really hyped up and excited to try here.Got there early. They werent busy so got us in right away. Got us seated at a table. Had to wait about about 5 mins for server to take our drink order. Said sorry took so long short staffed. I noticed there was only about 8 or 9 tables total in use which was abour 1 hour before close. I actually counted like 6 wait staff. Not sure how that constitutes short staffed. During the night i notoced most of them just talking with the other wait staff rather then providing servoce. A great variety of food but everything was bland. Brisket coccked with no bbq sauce? But a section of about 15 bottles of bbq sauce for you to decide what to use. All in their manufactured bottles afterwards. Also another section of like 10 hot sauces. I dont even think they seasoned anything with salt and pepper. Just seemed like a hodge podge of stuff thrown together. Is it bad when the best thing at a bbq and smokehouse was the carrots or mushrooms. In the pics of the food on google, alot of people show pics of sort of marshmallows dessert, however indidnt see it in the biffet. I was advised that all dessert is available but not included in the cost. When bill was brought, i was asked cash orndo i needachiem. I asked for machine. They actually took my card and put it in the machine for me then handed back to me. Did they think i didnt know how to use a debit/credit card machine. Just seemed weird to me. Wish i didn't have as high expectations as i did for this place. Definitely wont...
