This seems like a tourist place of Indian genus where they discovered a UVP in the area as a Thai place. I suspect that explains the high reviews. If you have not had proper Thai elsewhere in HK, this tastes "good". But the roti was at least a day old and clearly reheated--tough, chewy, no flakiness and stuck together. It was like eating pieces of leather that you had to soak in the curry to get through. Good if you are from a tribe somewhere that sharpens their teeth to eat raw meat, but not good if you have caps.

We had the green beef curry, vegetable pad Thai and spring rolls ($358). The spring rolls were better--tasty--but still a bit over-fried and got tough quickly as they cooled. The curry had a good taste but was way too oily and not memorable. The pad Thai was overloaded with spring onions and under loaded with sauce.

Overall assessment: give it a pass. This is edible only if you are very hungry--which we were. You can go to Wanchai or Causeway Bay and find substantially better Thai at similar or cheaper prices and you don't have the annoying loud music around or a guy outside fishing for/harassing passersby to convince them to come in as you receive dirty looks from his...

Lucky Thai in Lang Kwai Fong had been one of my staples since I started visiting Hong Kong regularly for work about 16 years ago. I remember dozens of evenings with great Thai food; the salads fresh, the curries delicious. The food was really great.

Now I was back for the first time since the pandemic ended. The food has changed. For the worst! The green papaya salad I ordered was clearly made with some form of instant sauce (tasted and looked like ready made Sriracha) instead of a fresh one. The minced meat with thai basil tasted bland and was 'mushy'. Miles off from what is served in a good Thai restaurant, not to mention what is served in Thailand. I could not bring this down and happily went to another place.

The service - while being generally friendly - did not ask if I liked the (basically untouched) food when we asked for the check. And when I asked the server if the chef had changed since this was the most disappointing thai food experience I have ever had anywhere on the planet, he just shrugged his shoulders.

TLDR: Lucky Thai has dropped the ball. The food is totally disappointing. I recommend...

🌟 Delicious Papaya Salad Experience! 🌟

I recently visited this charming family-owned restaurant in Central, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! Craving papaya salad, I was delighted to find that they not only serve it but do so with incredible flair.

The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The service was exceptional—attentive and friendly, which truly added to the overall experience. It’s clear that the owners take pride in their establishment, and their hospitality shines through.

What I loved most was the location; it’s conveniently within walking distance, making it easy to pop in whenever I have a craving.

If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious food and offers a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant is definitely worth a try. Highly recommend it to anyone...

I wanted a cozy place to have a beer by myself just off of the main road and came across Good Luck LKF. I was immediately greeted by the host, who I believe was an owner of the establishment. She took my beer order and answered questions about the menu. I was only interested in a light bite and she happily hooked me up with beef and chicken skewers and a couple of spring rolls. All of these items were excellent! I wasn't here to eat dinner, so didn't get a chance to try other items, but I'm confident enough to say that I would anticipate greatness throughout their Thai, Malay, and Indian offerings. The service alone was a reason to give them an outstanding review. I love places like this!
