We visited as a group of 11, and they were accommodating in seating us all together. However, from the start, we felt a bit rushed, as the staff hovered around our table quite a lot.
The menu offers plenty of options, with most of our group choosing the house trout dish. I had the mushroom trout, which was a generous portion—everyone left feeling very full, which was great!
The real issue arose when it was time to pay. While they had informed us that they only accept cash, the waiter insisted on handling the bill himself, despite us repeatedly saying we would sort it out as a group. He went around collecting money from each person, took it away to count, and then claimed we were short—even though we had actually overtipped. While he didn’t push the issue too much, he kept insisting that we hadn’t fully covered the automatically added 10% tip, which we had.
Overall, the food was good, but there are plenty of other places that are better priced and feel less like a tourist trap. If you’re dining as a large group, I wouldn’t...
Read moreThis place needs an honest review because we were very disappointed. The food was not cheap by Colombian standards, which is fine, but the service provided and quality of food were sub-par for the price.
I will caveat that some people got the fish and this dish was fantastic - highly recommended. I will also say that the atmosphere was authentic.
However all other dishes were very bland and sub-par. Most of us couldn’t finish our meals and all agreed we had had much better street food for a fraction of the price. To top it off there was a fiasco with paying; being advised we couldn’t split the bill, apparently no card payment but then suddenly they brought out the card machine when we said we couldn’t pay, oh and the automatic 10% service fee charged. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful when it came to settling up. If a restaurant is charging these prices, they should then provide adequate payment methods. There are much better, more authentic and better value options than...
Read moreMixed review. We only popped in for a few beers as thought this place looked interesting. Everything was fine until it came to pay. We had checked before entering the establishment that they did indeed accept card as payment, the gentleman who seated us confirmed it was ok. We also watched other customers pay via card. When we asked for the bill, we asked for the card machine which prompted the waitress to become angry with us. She raised her voice at us stating they do not accept card. I explained we had confirmed prior to sitting down that they indeed do, and that we have seen others pay with card. She became quite exasperated with us and if I’m honest, it was embarrassing. We obviously had the means to pay, but it would be via card as we did not have any cash on us. She walked off from us and another member of staff dealt with us and offered us the card machine. It was a shame to end the evening on that note and it all just felt very rude. Poor...
