This boutique hotel is located on a quiet street in a great position in Prague 1 being a few minutes walk from Stare Mesto square and the Charles Bridge.|The entrance and reception are pleasant and informal. |Adjacent to reception is the bar/breakfast area which is split between a glass box style conservatory and ‘inside’ seating areas - it’s a really pleasant space.|There is an impressive stone staircase from the reception floor to all 5 floors of accommodation. |A lift in the foyer is glazed and overlooks the conservatory dining area and services all floors.|We were on the 5th floor (top floor room 505) after requesting a high floor/quiet room. |The rooms are split between the front and rear of the building. I’m guessing the rear rooms will generally be quieter than the front rooms simply because of the street at the front of the property however the street is not noisy with very light traffic and foot fall. |Our view from our windows was across lovely red tiled roofs and in the distance the ornate roof of the National Theatre - a nice city vista. |It was generally quiet bar the usual hotel noises of housekeeping commencing work in the morning and the to and fro of other guests in our immediate vicinity at breakfast hours (between 6.30 - 10.30am).|The room was really nicely laid out, plenty of open hanging space/drawers, TV on a console/writing table, comfortable double bed, fridge, tea/coffee making facility and bigger than standard safe for valuables. The en suite was great with the shower being the star of the show - large, marble floored cubicle with rain shower and separate hand held shower head - the water pressure was outstanding. Shampoo, shower gel and body moisturiser provided. Hairdryer too.|Breakfast is brilliant - something for every taste - much better than I expected and much better than the majority of hotels I’ve stayed at.|This is a fantastic boutique hotel and competitively priced. It is super clean. |Staff are pleasant and helpful.|The hotel will also keep your bags for you if you have a late flight.|They have a very small basic fitness room in the basement which I looked into but didn’t use.|I do have one small gripe - which really should not deter anyone from staying at this brilliant hotel but may provide useful feedback for the property management. |Although we had a double bed it had two single quilts on it - which we found a bit awkward through the night. The pillows on the bed were also a bit ‘flat’ and ‘floppy’.|Apart from that everything...
Read moreI would not recommend staying at this hotel. We stayed there 2 weeks ago for 4 nights and the first night we checked in they put us on the first floor. The first floor rooms are essentially in the restaurant and next to the kitchen, so very loud. We immediately asked to move when they assigned us to this room and then they said the hotel was full. We decided to try it for one night and were woken up at 6am by other hotel guests eating and the kitchen staff cooking/cleaning. Again, we asked to move and this time they moved us. We really appreciated this and the next night was fine. The next day, we returned to the hotel for the evening and asked for a bottle of white wine - the woman handed us a bottle that she said was Sauvignon Blanc, but it was actually Cabernet. Not the end of the world, but white wine and red wine are not the same thing. When we got up to our room (around 1am), we looked up to the ceiling and it was COVERED in bugs. We were shocked because we never even opened a window once and the room was covered. Immediately we booked a new hotel for the next night and did the only thing we could think of - try to kill as many of the bugs as possible so we could get our things together to leave. We were killing bugs for more than an hour with the dead ones falling all over the bed. It was truly disgusting and one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had in our lives. In the morning, we explained this to hotel management as we asked to check out early given our awful experience. We only asked for a refund for the 1 night we wouldn't be staying there anymore due to the infestation of bugs and overall poor experience. The woman we spoke with, Katerina was nothing but rude and only credited us ~$30. We asked for the manager and she said she does not have to disclose this information to us since they are a private company. My best friend lives in Prague so even she contacted them to try and get in touch with a manager and they ghosted her as well. While we totally understand that our experience was very abnormal, poor management is what really upset us about our experience. My advice - do NOT stay here because if you need anything at all or if anything goes wrong, management is rude and has no interest in rectifying situations. Customer service is the most important thing in the hospitality industry and this hotel does not...
Read moreSuch a great stay at MOODs Charles Bridge Hotel. Staff were so welcoming , especially the lady who checked us in and brought all the paperwork to us rather than having us stand at the desk(after a long journey this was really appreciated). Additionally, we didn't have to pay city tax until check out which meant we got to our room really quickly.
Room: The room is HUGE and we went with the cheapest option, beautiful shower and great amount of wardrobe space.
Breakfast: Delicious breakfast with good options, I was especially a fan of all the options to put on toast and toppings such as cinnamon for hot drinks. Food and drinks at breakfast were constantly re-stocked and we never felt as though there wasn't enough food for everyone- staff are lovely.
Location: such a prime spot for getting to places nearby
However... fridge very small and was really hot on the outside floor in shower was broken quite badly where the water goes down, not an issue but visibly not very nice small window at top of door so didn't feel comfortable leaving bathroom or changing in front of wardrobe in case anyone could see in. fitness room is unfortunately not the best(1 treadmill, 1 bike and 1 machine for arm workouts but unfortunately no bench or dumbbells and treadmill was broken throughout the entirety of our stay so room was unusable. air conditioning machine would make random noises throughout the night and walls are quite thin so if neighbours shut door, run tap or shower or flush toilet you can hear it later in the evening(10pm onwards) we were unable to get any hot water(assuming if lots of guests are using there is limited supply)
However, none of these 'cons' caused any major issues during our stay, and we were extremely comfortable and felt very safe during our stay. Would definitely...
