One of the best restaurants ive been to in Prague. The services excellent with many of the crue members working there for 10+ years. The foods truly delectable and each bite sends you into a near histerical state. The humorous gray haired small guy, seemingly a tad bizzare in nature, who you can see padlling around from time to time’s the owner and you can certainly strike up an axtravagant conversation with him and make him crack a joke from which you can see his true french humor shine through, making you holler like some sort of an APE. He also has an amazing inspirational multitalented daughter. Truly a wonderful family business whos true spirit has stayed at its core for over 20 years now and has curated a very cozy artsy interior with a collection of art works, some of them painted by the owner himself displayed on its walls. As a loyal customer of 18 years, i cannot reccomend you this magical place enough and i highly encourage you to try some of their delicious specialities, which after you get a taste of, its hard to resist the impulsive urge to break into the business through their glass vitrines. Ps: if you say the secret ,,i clogged the toilet,,...

Tucked just a short walk from Old Town Square, Au Gourmand is a hidden gem that truly deserves more attention. While it may not be as famous as some other bakeries in Prague, it certainly stands out where it matters most — in quality, service, and atmosphere.
The pastries and sweets here are exceptional — delicate, flavorful, and clearly made with care. In fact, the quality rivals or even exceeds that of much pricier places like Arctic Bakery. What’s even better is that despite the superior quality, prices at Au Gourmand are typically 20–30% lower than Arctic. Yes, it's still on the slightly expensive side, but well worth it for what you get.
The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing break from sightseeing. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the experience. They also offer light lunch options, making it a great stop whether you’re craving a croissant or something more filling.
If you're near Old Town Square and want something delicious in a calm and welcoming setting, Au Gourmand is absolutely...
Read moreI have been to this place over the course of six months near 10 times. So i can confidently say that i know what I am commenting about. are used to really like the place however, for the past four-five times. The service has been awful. The waitresses do not pay attention and they are grumpy. they do not even make effort to be pleasant. they were just dropping off food rudely not even looking at you or asking if upu need anything and leaving not even saying “there you go” or anything like that. And whenever I thank them for bringing it there is no response. When paying they tell you “pay, pay here” they dont even speak or make any effort and its quite rude. specifically the one with the short hair. I believe this is not acceptable customer service, and I believe I’ve given them enough chances to redeem themselves. However enough is enough and I will not be going back. I was going back because I enjoy the food but now with theis rude and careless attitude its not enjoyable. I will give them 2 stars only...
