I was in this restaurant for 5 or 6 times. My last stay was very disappointing. Reservations are not possible, they rather cash up as much people in short time as possible. Last time we waitet for 45 minutes to get a free table. Even though there were 2 free tables but the personal was to lazy to clear an clean them up. The food comes until 10 minutes if you order one of the traditional czech foods, but its not fresh. Last time we wanted to order something from the category "grilled food" he said we have to order something other or have to wait at least 1 hour until we get the food. The taste and the portion is ok but little meat. He did`nt brought us ketchup, so we had to stand up and ask for some. He gave us very hot ketchup even though there were some normal ketchup bottles behind the bar. While we ate, they completely ignored us. Our glasses were empty but they did´nt ask if we want some more to drink. When we finished, we waited for more than 30 minutes to pay. We all looked at the Stuff but there was no reaction. They gave us the bill on a small Plate, it was 1000 kc, so we put there 1050. He came back and asked why we still didn´t pay so I didn´t understand the problem and said that we paid. (I talked to him in czech) So he looked at me and said "without service?" and I did not know what he wants from us. He asked from which country you are so I said Germany, so he said we have to pay at least 10 or 15% tips. He was really angry and grumpy (maybe because czech people think germans are very rich), took the money and only said "čus bus" which is a czech way to make a bad joke about germans.
I don´t understand the way he treated us because we gave him 50 crowns tips even it was no good service. We are normal students (aged around 20 years) so he can´t expect we are rich people only because we live in germany. Very rude and...

Firstly, we started with the special “smelly“ beer cheese, crumbed and deep fried- Served with cranberries. The cheese was extremely stretchy and warm, with an almost sweet, yet creamy taste. It wasn’t very smelly, we were expecting a bold hit. The crumbing was golden and crispy, fried well, quite mild and simple in flavour.
The beef goulash was served with potato pancakes, onion and ‘Knedlíky’, which the Czech refer to as dumplings. The goulash had a mild level of spiciness with a rich beef-spiced broth. It had noticeable flavours of paprika and caraway. The beef in the goulash was noticeably slow-cooked, but for too long. The potato pancakes were fried like hash-browns and had a delicious simple-potato taste. The dumplings tasted like a sweet dough, which was perfect for soaking up the rich-Czech Goulash.
The pork schnitzel was very mild in flavour and the batter was under fried. However, the mashed potatoes with onion, bacon and spring onion carried the dish, adding a delectable creaminess to the bite. The lemon and pickles on the side added a vinegary component to balance out the dish.
The roasted duck was cooked almost perfectly, with a tender finish, however the quantity of duck meat:bone ratio was quite disappointing. This was served with braised red cabbage and dumplings (Knedlíky). This bohemian dish known as, ‘Pečená kachna’, utilises caraway, garlic and salt.
The grilled neck of pork cooked by a sous-vide method, was served on lumberjack bread with sweet caramelized onions on top, a sweet vejmrda (grated horseradish and apples) + a strong horseradish on the side. The pork was tasty, being cooked with garlic, onion and caraway. The pork was slightly overcooked.
Overall, a great feed with some simple corrections needed, a welcoming insight into the...
Read moreWe had a fantastic time at Krcma, where we enjoyed two half-litres each of Pilsner Urquell, which was perfectly refreshing. The lively atmosphere made it a great place to relax and indulge in local cuisine. Since we loved the goulash on our previous visit, we decided to order it again, and it did not disappoint. Rich and hearty, it was just as delicious as we remembered.
We also tried the svíčková, a traditional Czech dish of beef in cream sauce. This local delicacy was incredibly well-prepared, with tender meat complemented by a rich, flavourful sauce that paired beautifully with the bread dumplings served on the side. Both dishes were really, really good and added to our enjoyment of the meal.
Interestingly, the same waiter who had been a bit rude on our first visit served us again. However, when the bill arrived, we noticed it included an optional additional price with the tip already calculated. We chose to pay that price, which seemed to change the waiter’s demeanor; he became noticeably happier and more engaged.
Despite the initial rudeness, our experience at Krcma turned out to be wonderful. The delicious food, great beer, and warm ambiance made for a memorable dining experience. We left feeling satisfied and would definitely return to try more...
