I’ve been going to bab;ryze for years and I’ve never had any complaint both to the food and customer service.
However yesterday’s customer service was just disgusting and unprofessional:
We went there at 9:00PM (1h before closing time) and we were greeted with a waitress who looked really annoyed at us. When we ordered things, one of my friends wanted some kimchi pancakes and kimchi fried rice. The waitress looked at her and asked her: “Are you hungry? Are you starving?” Let the customer order what they want and don’t question it even. My friend was feeling afterwards really uncomfortable and just upset about the waitress’ behaviour. While we were eating and didn’t finish the meal, another waiter came to us and just handed the bill. This never ever happened to me that someone would hand us the bill while I was in the middle of eating and this is actually really rude in many European countries incl. Czech Republic. The audacity that the waiter asked for tips and this is the reason why we didn’t give tips.
It’s not entirely 1 star because the food was really delicious so I’m giving my only compliments to the chef.
I understand that it’s frustrating when you have to do some orders before closing time and the workers just want to go home as soon as possible but as I mentioned before we came to the restaurant one hour before closing time. Their frustration should not have been projected to us which makes it highly unprofessional.
I’d like to go to this restaurant again because of the delicious food but I sure hope I’m not seeing the waiters again… because their behaviour made the meal...
Read moreThe poorest service I have ever had. The young waitress with brown hair was not pleased that we came at all. I asked to change an egg for a tofu in Bibimbab (which is already a vegetarian meal with an egg on the top), because I am vegan. She immediately said that it is not possible, that they don’t do that etc. But I was really hungry, so I asked her to ask in the kitchen. She looked at me like I have literally ruined her life 🙄
Shortly after a Korean guy came and said that it is impossible to change ingredients in meals, because the costs are different and that he isn’t sure that it would even taste good. ( isn’t it kind of up to a customer to decide?) I even offered to pay more, but no, that didn’t matter… He didn’t apologize that they really can’t do anything for me, nor he tried to offer some other meal for me to eat. I felt so unwelcome… this place is definitely not...
Read moreAmazing, delicious Korean food! I had the fried Korean dumplings filled with vegetables, plus the Kimchi jjigae (Kimchi stew with pork and tofu) and a delicious bottle of grape soju. I highly recommend them all. The entire meal was fantastic.
Bab rýže is an excellent Korean restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere. Definitely add this to your Prague restaurant list.
I reserved my table a day ahead of time. I scheduled for 17:00 on a Saturday, which was perfect since it was just as they were beginning their dinner portion of the evening.
Thank you to the wonderful team at Bab rýže! I look forward to dining there again...
