The MOOo Downtown apartments are run by the hotel just opposite (The quirky and fun Mosaic House Design Hotel) which is where you go first to check in & get your keycards. We were greeted late at night by a friendly receptionist who went on to explain everything about getting into the apartments, & where we could find the additional facilities provided by the hotel (eg the gym, the gallery library, & the breakfast cafe). We crossed the road & entered through the lovely lobby of the apartment block, then up the lift to our accommodations on floor 5. Every point was secure & only accessible by guests, so we felt safe the entire stay. At first, we had apartment 21 which was spacious, warm, clean & very comfortable. A bottle of complimentary prosecco was left for us in the kitchen/living room, as well as plenty of info about the place. The waterfall shower head was huge & really lovely. Each window had a view out onto the streets & the arty sculptures that are dotted about the vicinity too. The bed was large & very comfortable, plus there were plenty of towels, kitchen ware, & pillows + 2 TVs in the flat. Additionally, replacement coffee pods, teas, dishwater tablets & washing machine tablets were restocked as we required them. The fridge contained a few bits that could be used at an extra charge if you need them. The sofa was also a fold-out-bed if you require it. There are books everywhere for you to read too. The location is awesome, with a short walk to the main old square. Part way through our stay (through NO fault of the hotel) we had to switch rooms to apartment 18 on the same floor. This apartment was EVEN nicer, with a balcony, a beautiful bright and airy kitchen & living space, & a full bathroom. The windows let in so much light & had great views of the surrounding bustling Prague streets. The bed in this flat was just as large & comfortable as the other, + everywhere was spotless and warm. We had the all-you-can-eat breakfast in the main hotel once & it was amazing. Every staff member we encountered was polite, helpful, and very professional.
There was nothing at all we didn't like. This place and its staff team were wonderful from start to finish and I will 100% be recommending them to anyone I know who is visiting Prague - both the apartments (especially number 18) and the main hotel too. If I had to be really reeeeallllyyy fussy, I would only say that the shower cubicle in apartment 21 is a little bit tight to move around in comfortably. But that really is it - we had a pretty much...
Read moreWe are a family of 4 (kids are 10 and 7). We took a 1 BR accommodation, because this is what was available for the dates of our stay. Although the kids slept in the living-room-kitchen, we managed, and the hotel staff was kind enough to arrange the sofa-bed for the kids really nicely before we arrived. The location is great. Close to a tram station with a lot of line options, close to city center and Charles Bridge (15-20 minutes walk), quite a few restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The acoustics was fine. We didn't hear our neighbors, and overall it was very quiet all around, and we certainly felt that it had very good value for money. We were even surprised to find out that there's a free (albeit small :-) ) gym in a nearby hotel.
The staff was always kind and helpful.
Three things that were a little on the annoying side: There's a staircase between the outer door of the building and the inner one, leading to the apartments, and there you can also find the elevator. But climbing this staircase with all the luggage is not necessarily easy. An idea - install a small staircase-elevator that will be beneficial for both handicapped people, and for the luggage. I was a 1 BR room, but suitable for 4 people. The utensils were exactly for 4 people (4 knives, 4 spoons, etc) w/o extras, and that made us use the dishwasher a lot... Please consider adding more utensils. The shampoo bottle got emptied at some point and we had to go and ask for more (I had to wait for almost an hour for someone to come and fill it up before I showered). I think it should be part of the routine of cleaning the room every day, and then it doesn't get to that :-)
Thanks for an excellent and...
Read moreWe had a great stay here and highly recommend Mooo Downtown. The exterior is exactly as shown in the pictures, as are the interiors. However, the rooms were smaller than what they looked like in the pictures. The apartment has a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa cum bed in the living room. However, we felt that it is ideal for only 2 occupants / a couple given the size of the apartment. That said, we were extremely comfortable in the apartment. It is well appointed, all your basic needs and then some have been thought of and met. The staff is warm, friendly and responsive. The location is fantastic - 1 tram stop just outside the apartment building and 2 stops a hop skip and jump away (in different directions). You have several minimarkets and restaurants/cafes within a 300m radius. A few tourist attractions in the vicinity. Tram Line 22 has a stop about 300 mt away (this is important because it follows the same route as the tourist hop on hop off tram which runs only on the weekends except during summer when it runs daily). Only drawback is that you have to climb 1 flight of stairs to get to the elevator. However, the staff is happy to assist. You are 5-10 minutes away from the Old Town (by public transport) or about a kilometer. In my opinion, it is better to stay a little outside the Old Town because no public transport goes right into Old Town / to the Old Town square, and you are away from the constant...
