I'm in Prague once a year and I discovered Baku Lounge in 2020 when I was staying across the street. I went in and immediately loved it and would go literally every other night during my time in Prague. So in the past three years, I've been there about 10 times over the course of three weeks combined.
My bad review is due to my most recent visit on 28 November 2023. I was one of five people in the lounge so it was empty. After my hookah was served to me I went to move my chair and didn't realize it was pinned against the wall. This caused me to bump into the table and the shisha bowl fell and broke. The server came over and I apologized and explained what happened and offered to pay for the shisha while ordering a second (new) one.
When I was done, I went to pay the bill and they did, in fact, take me up my my offer to pay for the shisha that spilled (I was actually surprised they took me up on the offer to pay; I didn't think they would, but I offered so I can't complain). What REALLY surprised me was they charged me for the shisha bowl that broke. Seriously? Have you EVER heard of a restaurant charging a customer for an accidentally broken wine glass, or plate, or whatever? I was completely in shock. That wasn't even the worst part. My bill was supposed to be 1,000 crowns which is $45 (this includes the shisha I spilled). To my surprise, my bill was 1,980 crowns - they charged me 980 crowns ($45) for the bowl which is like $10-$15.
I cannot recommend this place after this incident. I was a huge fan of Baku, sent MANY friends here both that live in Prague and friends that visit Prague and this is how they treat me. There are plenty of other hookah bars in Prague; I'd suggest you visit them because if you accidentally break something here, or maybe something else, they will charge you for it.
So, in conclusion, Baku squeezed and extra $60 out of me and lost a long time customer as well as my influence of sending people there. Hope it...
Read moreWe went there to have fun, but ended up paying more than was in not existing bill. Firstly they gave us one opportunity to sing, then for some reason the microphone was split between 3 tables. When for the 3rd time I asked about our turn, I was told that actually the management of the bar came in and they want to sing their songs! Oh, really? Why do you have the place open for customers then? Just have it for yourself and sing as much as you like! What is this interesting business model, when owner get served before the guest? I am shocked by this attitude. SHOCKED! Secondly, when my friends were leaving ( I left before), they were forced to pay the bill that other people had already paid. But since the place doesn't provide any bills it's impossible to prove if you paid cash. Dear Baku, I really hope that those 475 czk that you cashed from us for the second time will help you to survive the inspection check! We are honest people and want to be treated as such. Those dirty tricks just for 475 czk are just disgusting! This was the last time...
Read moreNormally I try to share positive reviews but this place was such a mess I don't have a choice. It was extremely noisy inside due to loud music and overly exuberant guests who were constantly running in and out of the room and shouting, so we could barely hear each other taking. The place felt like it was in a metro vestibule - constant draft and no heating, we were extremely cold the entire time. The service barely took notice of us, didn't offer a table when we arrived and took at least 15 minutes to prepare glass of wine and a drink (twice). We had to ask at least four times for the shisha until finally someone came and we ordered. Then we had to wait for at least half an hour for it. It was the worst shisha I'd ever had and I have at least one a week. The bill came at almost a 1000CZK. Overall it was one of the worst experiences I've had in going out in my life and I'll never come back and I advise you...
