Damascus Restaurant in the heart of Prague is a wonderful place to eat, not just for its tasty food but also for its beautiful interior. When you walk in, you feel like you're stepping into a lovely mix of old and new Middle Eastern style. The place has a cozy feel with colorful tiles, soft fabrics, and lanterns that give off a soft light, making everything look warm and welcoming. The decorations aren't just nice to look at; they also show the rich culture of Syria, especially the city of Damascus. From the beautifully carved furniture to the stylish archways, everything is put together to make your meal special. The menu is full of authentic Syrian dishes made with care and great ingredients, ensuring every bite is delicious and full of flavor. Overall, Damascus Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's like a mini-vacation to another world, right in the center of Prague. It's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful meal in a place that feels both fancy and inviting. Whether it's a special celebration or just a night out, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for a memorable and tasty experience.

Damascus Restaurant in Prague has a lovely atmosphere the decorations are beautiful and instantly remind you of the old neighborhoods and traditional houses of Damascus. The service is friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe makes you feel welcome. The food is tasty, but the portions could be a bit more generous. The sides like garlic sauce, single pickle, rice, and even the single olive served were quite small. The chicken shish tawook tasted good but seemed slightly undergrilled. Despite that, it was still an enjoyable experience overall. The place has great potential with its authentic Syrian charm and pleasant service just needs a bit more attention to portion size and food consistency. The location is quite perfect. Close to everything you are looking for in Prague.

The food is good, specially that I ordered Taboula and Kebah and Chicken Curry. Kebah was amazing, Tabouleh had extra lemon which I know most of the Syrian & Lebanese restaurant serve it like that. Chicken curry sauce was good and the chicken itself was very tender 👌🏻 The In-Door setup is absolutely amazing, feels like a luxury Dining restaurant which you would only sit in to check for the details in every corner ❤️. Service was fast, ambiance is more like Arabic songs which to me feels good as am an Egyptian 😂. Was easy to talk and communicate easily with the owners and they are very welcoming. I think it was kinda expensive for me paying 26 euros for main plate and 2 sides... That my only concern, other than that I liked the place 🙏

It was the worst service I have ever had in my entire life, in all the countries I have been to, I have never witnessed something so surreal. The incident I am about to recount happened a few months ago, but I only decided to review it now due to the stress we experienced that day.

We were celebrating a birthday with approximately 20 guests, we thought everything would go smoothly because if they accepted the reservation, it was expected that they could handle the demand, right? Completely wrong. It took 40 minutes just for the drinks to be served at the table, the food took over 2 hours… some orders arrived wrong. Two people were even missing plates and had to wait even longer to finally have dinner.

We thought that would be the worst of the night, but once again, we were wrong. When it came time to pay, the waiter insisted that all 20 people should pay with a single card or only with cash if paying separately. We found this totally absurd because we were familiar with the restaurant and they had never requested this before. After much discussion (the waiter who was handling the payment was completely out of control, shouting the whole time), they finally agreed to let each person pay separately with their own card, but the waiter demanded an additional 3% fee on each payment!!! I have been living here for 8 years, no restaurant has ever asked for that. Ok, we paid the 3% (which was a total stupid on their part because personally, I usually give a 15% tip on the total bill in every restaurant I go to, and my friends present also tend to do something similar. The waiter wanted to take advantage, they ended up losing out on good tips).

Do you think it's over? Not at all! After everyone paid, the waiter said the group had paid 3,000 crowns less!!! How? Wasn't he the one who divided and charged? How could we pay less? He couldn't even explain which dish/drink/service was the missing amount, he refused to recalculate the total when we obviously asked. It led to more arguments until someone who introduced themselves as the owner emerged from the restaurant's kitchen and apologized, saying it was the waiter's mistake and assured us that the bill was correct and we could leave.

The worst night of our lives, no doubt. After all of that, the supposed owner sent a text message to the birthday girl who made the reservation, apologizing, saying he had fired the waiter! He just didn't know that during dinner, this same waiter had already told us and introduced himself as part of the family that owns the restaurant 😂 What a joke, firing a relative, yeah. And with that, I conclude this horror show, ladies and gentlemen!

In addition to the horrendous service, there are much better Arabic restaurants...

Here’s your final review with the added details:

This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had.

Before going, I called the restaurant to confirm if they were open, and they assured me they were open from 2 PM. However, when I arrived after 2 PM, the restaurant was completely closed, with all the lights off and the door shut. After waiting, someone finally opened the door and let us in. The atmosphere was terrible—dark, unwelcoming, and extremely uncomfortable. Instead of turning on the lights, they only switched on a single one near our table, leaving the entire place in near darkness. I asked several times for them to turn on more lights, but they completely ignored my request.

Now, onto the food—a total disaster. We ordered mixed grilled meat platters and appetizers, and the bill came to 94 euros. For this price, I expected at least decent quality, but instead, the meat was old, dry, and inedible. My children and I couldn’t even eat it because it was so bad. I complained to the staff, but instead of acknowledging the issue, they rudely insisted that the meat was fresh. Their attitude was dismissive and unprofessional.

To make things worse, the pricing was completely misleading. They claimed our mixed grill platter was one kilo, but in reality, it was much less. The quality of the grilling and the meat itself was absolutely terrible.

And the worst part? Shortly after eating, we all started experiencing severe stomach pain. The food felt harmful, and we ended up feeling sick and unwell. It was not just bad—it was potentially unsafe.

After paying 94 euros, we left hungry, frustrated, and feeling ill.

I strongly advise against eating here. The food is overpriced, the quality is awful, the service is disrespectful, and worst of all, it made us sick. Save your money and your health—do...

I’m giving only one star because there’s no option to give less. We visited the restaurant on Thursday, October 16, 2025 — four adults and four children. We ordered the following dishes: Mutabbal, Fatousch, Musakaaha, 1 kg Mixed Grill, 2 Portins mandi with 2 extra rice portins, cola, Later 3 cups of Tee and 2 pieces Katayef. First, the Mutabbal, Fattoush, and Moussaka arrived. The bread was old and reheated in the microwave. The portions were very small. Then the Mandi came — the rice was sticky, old, and clearly reheated. I’ve eaten Mandi in five or six different countries, and I’ve never seen rice this bad. Then came the mixed grill — without fries or any side dishes, just meet with some onien and tomatoes and only a small cup mayonnaise as dip. We told the waiter that fries should be included; he said they would come right away. But the fries only arrived after we had already finished the grill. The portion size for 1 kg of grill was also ridiculous. The total bill was €162. The waiter served the food without any care, took the money without saying a single word — no apology, no question about whether we enjoyed the meal, not even a “thank you,” not even after we left a tip. Overall, one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Both the food and the service were extremely...
