Absolutely horrifying experience. Five of us had gone there for dinner. We ordered a hot and sour chicken soup. Firstly the guy brought the order wrong. We got some creamy chicken soup and when we had asked he mentioned that we had placed the order wrong. Honestly we don't know if we did, but we asked him if he can change it. The guy who was serving us although agreed to change it showed us faces and it was really uncomfortable being there. In a couple of mins we got our so called hot and sour soup. It was essentially the same soup but with loads of chilli powder. It was so horrible we couldn't even taste it. An absolute disaster. When we told him the same he wasn't even apologetic. It looked like he did not care if we come there or not. He just said, fine then I won't charge you, what else do you want. When we go to a restaurant even before food we expect am experience. Very rude staff (ofcourse not all, as I have been there several times). This one particular guy was totally unprofessional. We did not feel welcome at all in the restaurant and did not even feel like eating there. The reception for native Czechs seemed to be very good. It was evident that he was being selective in his service. 2 days later one of my friend ordered veg biriyani to go and he was given chicken biryani by the same guy. On calling and enquiring he says it is the duty of the customer to check if it's right before leaving the shop and that he has several other things to do. It's a shame that I had visited the restaurant these many times to understand the real standard. I would starve to death but not visit this restaurant again. I will definitely also make sure my friends don't visit...
Read moreI'm not one to knock other reviews as everyone has unique experiences. I ordered a korma and a kadai and neither tasted as they should from extensive experience eating authentic Indian food in several countries and in some cases prepared by renowned Indian chefs. Both dishes turned out too sweet; the korma was a cross between a non spicy Thai green curry and some sweet custard dessert and the kadai lacked flavours which were also overpowered by the sweetener they used. But while the kadai was too sweet, it was nothing compared to the sweetness of the korma which i considered returning. The naan bread and rice were fine. Value for money was ok as well, it wasn't cheap but they were generous with their portions. From visual inspection of each curry, I could quickly tell that not much love and flavours were put into preparing these dishes which may explain why sweeteners were used to mask their flavour which i suspect would have otherwise been bland. For this reason, i doubt I was unlucky and will avoid ordering from them again, but I respect that some might have enjoyed eating...
Read moreThe food was great. We ordered the butter chicken, mango chicken, garlic naan and peshavar naan, and mango lassi. The portion sizes are ample. The menu pricing is reasonable.
The restaurant is on a side street in a busy area and is easy to access. Upon entering the restaurant around 1745, we became slightly confused because there wasn't any staff in the area and people were seated at tables. Then, we read the sign on the wall, "restaurant downstairs". Upon going downstairs, we were warmly greeted, seated and given menus.
The decor is dated and tables and chairs are worn from use, but the restaurant was clean (minus the top of the vent), and the items I mentioned are well-maintained. As far as the ambiance, great food and service, with good company makes a fabulous,...
