The place looks nice and their menu aswell, but they are not serving exactly what is on it and their attitude is really problematic.
if you have any allergy or dietary issue, I don't recommend to go to eat here, because there might be hidden allergens in your food, and the servers will just discard your comment.
I ordered a Dante's divine breakfast, the scrambled eggs was not really scrambled eggs, it was a fried egg which was a little bit scrambled, but i don't think it was a whole egg. their Croque Monsignor toast, was closer to croque madame, but even it wasn't even that. it had fried egg in the middle, which does not match neither of these dishes. and they served a small desert on the plate (which was not mentioned on the menu), which contained hazelnut, which wouldn't be an issue, but their menu does not contain any allergen info. and when I notified the waitress that it has hazelnut, and that i'm allergic, her reaction was, "Then don't eat it or do something else with it" which is unacceptable.
Update: the reply from the place prooves the place's mentality, it replied in Czech to an English review. And its a lie that i've eaten everything, I ate what was safe for me to eat and left out the things i'm allergic to. The hazelnut desert and the kiwi fruits. I find it disturbing to lie under reviews to hide the mentality of the workers. I did not want to make a scene, so i decided to not confront the waitress at the place about her behavior, now i feel like i should have. Will never...
Read moreWe visited Dante’s Bistro twice during our trip for breakfast, and while overall it was a very positive experience, there was a noticeable difference in service between the two visits.
Our first visit was outstanding. As a group of 10, we were catered to with ease and care. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was spot on. We ordered a mix of Full English breakfasts, Eggs Benedict, and Omelettes, all of which were cooked perfectly. I had a hot chocolate topped with cream, which was smooth and indulgent. The omelette customisation options (goat's cheese & spinach or bacon) were a great touch, and everyone left very satisfied, prompting us to return a couple of days later.
On our second visit, the food remained excellent, this time I tried the Dante’s Divine Breakfast which lived up to its name. Unfortunately, the service fell short of the high standard set previously. My hot chocolate arrived without cream, an Americano was forgotten, and we received a vitamin juice that no one had ordered. While these were minor errors, they stood out in contrast to our first flawless visit.
We’d still gladly recommend Dante’s to anyone in the area and the breakfast is genuinely fantastic, but there’s a bit of inconsistency in service depending on the staff. A few small tweaks, and it could be a 5-star...
Read moreLast day of our trip to Prague and we stopped here for lunch, having walked past and seen it be busy every time…well it turns out the reason it’s always busy is it takes so long to even be acknowledged let alone served. After 10 minutes of sitting waiting to have our order taken (despite the fact only 3 other tables had customers at this time) we managed to get the waitresses attention, however she seemed very unbothered by our orders, except telling us she’d need to check if the burger was available. 20 minutes later and still no beers, no confirmation of if our food orders were possible. A larger table of 5 came in and were served instantly, with their drinks given. We again requested our drinks and were rudely told one minute, she then proceeded to take this other tables food order. We said forget it we would leave, and there was no apology or reassurance our drinks or order were being made, just ‘fine.’ What a bitter taste after such lovely service everywhere else in Prague, the only way to describe this service was rude. Would not recommend to tourists at all, if you speak Czech you’ll be fine, but if you’re a tourist...
