We decided to try this new place which opened a couple of weeks ago . It’s a new place so things still to be fine tuned. We appreciated the effort from service staff particularly the ladies working for our table Quality of bread is excellent which is difficult to find these days anywhere. The bread comes into a paper bag lukewarm and it’s really high quality Pizza. We shared one simple classic pizza bufala Large size ,thin dough and crispy, overall a good pizza but a bit bland in taste and that bufala scattered raw on top has not enhanced the experience We then selected a number of appetizers good the provoletta with San Daniele ,I would remove that old leaves of rucola scattered on top not so good the fried prawns/calamari in fact the prominent item were the freshly made chips and not the seafood. Very very disappointing the vitello tonnato nothing to do with what someone is expecting. The sauce was kind of a sweet mayo without any hint of tuna flavor , over garnished with all sort of things such as capers anchovies and other ingredients which we could not really recognize and to finish tiny slices of tasteless grey meat 🤷 The 3 sausages were of good quality particularly the one flavored with nduja not so sure about the side dishes. The potato/cabbage served with the sausages had the texture and consistency of a porridge and not very pleasant. The sweet selection were somehow disappointing We tried all of them except tiramisu . Simply presented on tiny plates ,similar shapes, no garnishes or sauces which reminded us chain work straight out of a factory , the quality is below average ,in fact the most disappointing was the profiteroles what was served was more a sort of Paris-Brest nothing to do with a profiteroles I think this should be clearly specified on the menu particularly in an Italian restaurant on top the dough was dry and stale same for the gianduia stuffing Overall pricing was fine. We spent 1200kc per person including 2 bottles of a decent Gruner Veltliner but served too warm The service was very slow but I guess it’s normal for a newly opened place however the waiting was somewhat compensated by the helpful attitude provided by the...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant whilst travelling from the UK. The food was nice, and I have no real complaints there. My partner had the veal pasta and I ordered the beef cheeks.
What I can say is that the waiter who served us was completely out of order and rude.
My experience: I ordered a side dish of 'grilled vegetables' to go with my beef cheeks. The waiter served my food with a side of salad. When I refused the order, he lied to us, saying that in Prague, a side salad is vegetables and that is how it comes. (There is separate section on the menu for salads and an option of salad as a side dish) He then began to back track and ask me what he should do with the dish, as he would have to pay for it himself if I refused it. He took it away and I had no side of vegetables. The way this was handled put myself and my partner off from staying any longer.
I asked for the bill and we were offered to see the desert menu or if we would like coffee - I declined.
When presented with the card machine, the same waiter asked if I would like to tip, I said no, to which I was questioned upon. I told him that I did not appreciate him lying or the way he made us feel. He admitted his mistake in the order but because he would cover that cost, could not understand why I would not tip.
I paid the bill in full, with no tip and he threw the receipt on the table, walking away with an attitude and saying something out loud that I could not understand which drew more attention to an already...
Read moreI strongly do not recommend this restaurant. The taste of the dishes does not match their names. The Vitello Tonnato doesn't taste like tuna at all, and the anchovies just lying on top mixed with something crunchy would horrify any Italian chef.
The service suggests that there's no management in the restaurant, at least none worth mentioning. Despite the waitresses doing their best, the next course after the pizza was brought out only for one person in our group, while the rest of us waited about 5-7 minutes for our dishes. It's true that finding good pizza is rare, even in Italy. Our pizza looked and tasted like… let’s say - nothing special. The salad leaves were blatantly wilted and clearly not fresh. They even managed to make mashed potatoes taste bad. As for how profiteroles should look, it seems this restaurant has no idea, because instead of the profiteroles listed on the menu, I was served something dry with a dark cream inside, resembling the pastries sold at street kiosks. The white wine was almost room temperature. Both bottles.
Was there anything good, you ask? Yes, we liked the bread, but I'd rather go to an Italian bakery for bread—it would be much cheaper than our dinner.
What really saved our dinner was the fact that we had a fun Italian company.
Why did I give only one star? Because despite the Italian name of the restaurant and the Italian names of the dishes, this is nothing but a fake "Italian restaurant." And even as a...
